Abstract
1,014,776. Drying apparatus. MIAG MUEHLENBAU UND INDUSTRIE G.m.b.H. July 2, 1962 [July 25, 1961], No. 25199/62. Heading F4G. A shaft-type drier for granular materials comprises superposed compartments 11, 12 relatively displaced by 90 degrees and each containing inlet and outlet channels 13<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>11</SP> of inverted V-section arranged parallel to each other and in staggered arrangement, the inlet channels 13<SP>1</SP> feeding drying air from a distributing chamber 14 to which the air flows from a heater 18 and pipe 18<SP>1</SP>, and the outlet channels 13<SP>11</SP> passing the moisture-laden air into a collecting chamber 15 where it forms an exhaust stream 20 which is passed out through a pipe 16 into an exhaust pipe 17 common to both compartments. The pipes 18<SP>1</SP> feeding the drying air to the distributing chambers 14 and the exhaust pipes 16 from the collecting chambers 14 are located on diagonally opposed ends of the chambers.
