Abstract
1356849 Treating granular material; drying granular material UNILEVER Ltd 7 June 1971 [11 June 1970] 19284/71 Headings F4G and F4U [Also in Division B2] Apparatus for treating, i.e. heating or cooling and in particular drying and simultaneous cooling, material having solid particles of different grain sizes, e.g. seeds, comprises a chamber 1 supplied with material from hopper 10, sloping floor sections perforated to allow the passage of fluidizing conditioned gas stream from means 15 and discharge means 12 comprising a series of independently controllable, vertically spaced, horizontally extending outlets 24, 26, 27, 31 which allow the separate layers of material formed by the fluidizing process to be withdrawn.
