Abstract

1,013,256. Door fastenings. WALTER ROWLEY Ltd. March 19, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 14074/63. Heading E2A. A door fastening means comprises a housing 5 for securing to the door 8 and a bolt 6 slidably mounted in the housing, the housing being provided at the end from which the bolt can project with a flange 5b adapted to be secured in a recess in an edge of the door and being provided adjacent the other end with a recess 5c into which a pair of shelves 5d project from opposite lateral sides of the housing, the arrangement being such that the housing can be mounted on the door by placing the recess in the housing over a headed projection 9 on an adjacent face of the door, sliding the housing over the face of the door so that the head of said projection engages said shelves and securing the flange within the recess in the edge of the door. As shown the shelves are wedge shaped in cross-section and the flange has an aperture for receiving a screw 10. The bolt is moved by means of a knob which projects through a slot in the base of the housing which is of channel shape in cross-section.
