A resilient endless strip 1 for securing a plate 5 in an aperture in a face shield 3 comprises a groove for receiving the edge portion of the aperture and a recess 4 providing a seating for the edge portion of the plate which is retained for easy removal by three spaced resilient lips 6 integral with the strip.
