In a haymaking machine having driven rake-wheels, the tines 81 are arranged in groups arranged radially of the wheel on supports 80 pivoted to it about axes parallel to the axis of rotation, each group comprising a series of tines disposed along a line parallel to the axis of rotation, each support being turnable about its pivot-axis between adjustable stops. The rake-wheels are carried by a J-shaped sub-frame 1 pivoted about a vertical axis 25 to a frame 24 carried by tractor draught-links 105, 106 and fixable at various orientations to the line of draught. The sub-frame 1 carries a gearbox 15 from which the rake-wheels are driven by chain-transmissions 58A, 68, the gearbox having two alternative input-shafts 49, 53 producing rotation of the rakewheels in opposite directions. The subframe 1 can float about the axis of the shaft 20 or be locked by bolts 72 and brackets 70 engaging the gearbox 15. For transport, the power-lift is operated and the frame 1 is swung around the shaft 20 until the J-shape is vertical. Each support 80 is secured to a pivot-pin 82 which passes through the disc 79 forming the body of the wheel and which is secured to a bell-crank 92, 93. Alternate arms of the bell-crank are interconnected by links 95 and one arm 96 of one bell-crank is extended to co-operate with a quadrant 97 carrying adjustable stops 98. A spring 102 acts on the corresponding support 80 to oppose, resiliently, deflection of the supports about their pivots 82. The frame 1 may be angled on either side of the line of draught for tedding or side-delivery, the rake-wheels being oppositely rotated in one of these positions and the frame may also be inverted (Fig. 8, not shown) for the same purpose.
