Abstract

1,007,572. Mixing flowing liquids. ILFORD Ltd. Sept. 24, 1964 [Oct. 29, 1963], No. 42659/63. Heading B1C. In a method of and apparatus for mixing two liquids a bulk diluent is supplied through a flowmeter 7 and valve 8 to a tangential inlet 5 in one half of the length of a cylindrical mixing chamber 1 ; a restriction 9 being adjusted to form a vortex 3 in the chamber. Concentrated liquid to be diluted is supplied by a metering reciprocating pump 10 to an axial inlet at the centre of the vortex and the mixed liquid is discharged through a tan- gential outlet pipe 6 in the other half of the' chamber from the inlet pipe 5.
