Abstract

1,060,540. Mixing flowing fluids. COMBUSTION ENGINEERING Inc. June 9, 1965 [July 1, 1964 (2)], No. 24474/65. Heading B1C. A mixer for fluids at high pressures and temperatures comprises a thick-walled spherical chamber 10, a top inlet for a first, hotter fluid, a plurality of inlets as at 14, 16 for a second, cooler fluid which are in the same horizontal plane and are equiangularly spaced, and a bottom outlet 20 diametrically opposite the inlet 12. An outlet strainer 22 has perforations 23 in its top and side walls of aggregate area not less than that of the outlet 20. The: inlets for the second fluid may be arranged tangentially to an imaginary cylinder coaxial with the vertical axis of the chamber 10, Fig. 4 (not shown).
