Abstract

1,005,363. Seat backs. FLEX-O-LATORS Inc. Aug. 5, 1964 [Aug. 5, 1963], No. 31918/64. Heading A4M. A seat back frame 2 has a spring decking structure 16 mounted between vertical side rails 2 by means of spaoed tension springs 26. The spring decking structure 16 comprises side and intermediate cords 20 and 24, which consist of twisted paper enclosing a spring wire core, and parallel spring wires 18 passing through the intermediate cords 24 and twisted around or knotted to the side cords 20. A padding layer 31 enclosed between fabric layers 32 and 34 may be attached to the frame 2 so as to cover the spring decking structure 16.
