Abstract
1,002,598. Pneumatic conveyers. POLYSINS G.m.b.H. Aug. 2, 1962, No. 29799/62. Heading B8A. Pneumatic discharge of discrete material from a closed hopper 1, Fig. 1, upwardly through a conveyer pipe 4 is controlled by a vertically movable tube 5 surrounding the pipe 4 and communicating with the upper part of the interior of the vessel. Fluidizing air after rising from the porous base 3 descends through the tube 5. Adjustment of the tube 5 is made by a lever system 8, 9 which moves the tube between a shut-off position (Fig. 2, not shown) at which the end touches the base 3 to prevent inflow of material while permitting continued flow of air. In the fully raised position (shown), a conical end-piece 6 of the tube 5 makes a sealing engagement with the end of the tube 4 to prevent flow of air through the tube 5 while permitting a concentrated flow of material through the conveyer pipe 4.
