Abstract

The present invention relates to a syringe for an instrument (10, 50) for dispensing a first product and at least one second product for mixing them after their release from this instrument. According to the invention: - said syringe comprises a compartment (11) having an end with an outlet orifice (12) and an open opposite end (13), a compression piston (14) being mounted in this compartment (11), said piston (14) comprising a so-called actuating end (15), said compression piston (14) and said compartment (11) defining a chamber (23) for receiving a product, and in that - the compartment (11) comprises a barrier element (22) for preventing purely manual actuation of said first piston (14), said barrier element being configured to allow the movement of a connecting device with another piston through at least part of it, said compartment (11) being made in one piece. Description

Syringe for collecting and dispensing at least two products simultaneously

The present invention relates to a syringe intended to be implemented in a medical or veterinary instrument for collecting and dispensing at least two products concomitantly.

It is known that at some point in its life, a domestic animal such as a cat or a dog will need medication that will be administered orally.

For purely illustrative purposes, to preserve the health of the cat or dog, we know that it is necessary to regularly administer an oral dewormer such as a liquid dewormer. In other cases, the administration of an antibiotic will be necessary.

However, this oral administration, particularly in cats, can prove to be a real challenge.

It is indeed difficult to force a pet to swallow an unknown product which may also have low palatability.

It is then known to hide the medicine in a small amount of food in the hope that the pet will swallow it.

However, it is observed that these domestic animals, and in particular cats, can, thanks to their highly developed sense of smell, detect the deception and leave aside the mouthful containing the medicine.

Furthermore, some of these medications in liquid form must be administered to the pet on an empty stomach, which makes it impossible to mask them with the smell of solid food.

We then know how to mix this medicine in liquid form with another liquid product that is highly palatable to the domestic animal in order to ensure its uptake.

However, for some veterinary applications, these liquid products may be chemically incompatible, so that it is not feasible to prepare a ready-to-use mixture. In addition, the active ingredients are not always chemically stable in liquid media and the appetizing agents further destabilize these active ingredients in liquid media.

The preparation of this mixture by the owner of the domestic animal must therefore be carried out just before its administration.

Furthermore, it may be imperative to achieve the most accurate mixture possible, taking into account at least one parameter of the domestic animal, such as its weight.

This requirement therefore requires manipulations to measure and make the mixture before introducing it into a syringe, then administering it orally to the domestic animal.

This results in a longer preparation time, and this preparation can also prove tedious for the preparer if repeated regularly.

In addition, dosage errors and losses of active product may occur during this preparation.

It would also be interesting to have an instrument for collecting and administering to an animal a drug and an appetizing matrix, the original design of which would overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks.

Subject of the invention

The present disclosure relates to a medical or veterinary instrument capable of simultaneously and separately collecting at least two products, of separately containing these products and of simultaneously or concomitantly delivering these products, while keeping them separate until they leave the instrument, for example to administer them directly into the mouth of the domestic animal or into the mouth of a riding, draft or grazing animal.

An object of the present disclosure is such a medical or veterinary instrument, simple in design, economical and of high reliability in the dosing of at least two products such as liquid products.

Another object of the present disclosure is such a medical or veterinary instrument ensuring the impossibility of inadvertently actuating the control rod, or the piston, of a first compartment containing a first product to prevent the mistaken delivery of this first product to the animal without concomitant delivery of a second product with which the first product is intended to be delivered at the same time, or to prevent any inadvertent loss of the first product.

The present invention relates to a syringe intended to be implemented in such a medical or veterinary instrument.

The present disclosure also concerns a base which is particularly simple in its implementation and in its design, making it possible to fill the compartments of this medical or veterinary instrument with their respective product at the same time.

For this purpose, the present disclosure relates to an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, each of the products being liquid or viscous.

This instrument includes:
- a first compartment having one end with a first outlet orifice and an open opposite end, a first compression piston being mounted in said first compartment, said first piston having a so-called actuating end, said first compression piston and said first compartment defining a first chamber for receiving the first product,
- a second compartment distinct from said first compartment, this second compartment having an end with a second outlet orifice and an open opposite end, a second compression piston being mounted in said second compartment, said second piston having a so-called actuating end, said second compression piston and said second compartment defining a second chamber for receiving the second product,
- the first compartment comprising a barrier element to prevent purely manual actuation of said first piston,
- a connecting device for coupling the first and second pistons and thereby forming a common actuating head of said pistons such that said pistons are moved simultaneously when a push or pull is exerted on said common actuating head, and
- said barrier element and said junction device being configured to allow the movement of said junction device through at least part of said barrier element, during the movement of said actuating head, in order to authorize the activation of said first piston.

By "purely manual actuation", or even directly manual actuation, we mean that the movement of the first piston is carried out entirely and only manually, that is to say solely or directly by one or more fingers of the operator.

In this sense, the barrier element therefore aims to prevent an operator from accessing at least the actuating end of the first piston to directly activate the latter with at least one of his fingers.

Note that the present disclosure is not limited to the production of a medical or veterinary instrument for dispensing two liquid products concomitantly, but is intended for other types of products, such as the concomitant dispensing of a liquid product and a viscous product, or even of two viscous products.

Note that according to a particular implementation method, this instrument allows these two products to be distributed at the same time to ensure their mixing directly in the mouth of the domestic animal or in the mouth of a saddle, draft or pasture animal.

It should also be noted that the present disclosure is not limited to the simultaneous dispensing of only two products, but could very well concern the dispensing of at least three products. What has, in fact, been presented for an assembly comprising a syringe assembled to the first compartment, could be adapted for at least one additional syringe assembled to the first compartment.
For purely illustrative purposes, another lateral opening could be added on another side of the first compartment and a joining device could be provided for assembling the so-called actuating ends of the pistons mounted in the different compartments thus assembled.

It should also be noted that these two compartments may be preassembled or be initially separate compartments which may be assembled together by at least one assembly element of these compartments.

It is known that the so-called actuating end, or proximal end, of a piston is also called the head and may have a finger rest surface, the piston thus comprising a rod, a head and a finger rest made in a single piece.

Advantageously, and in the case of the distribution of two products, the medical or veterinary instrument of the present disclosure makes it possible to physically separate a matrix providing palatability or hyper-palatability and a formula containing an active ingredient, so that the latter remains stable over time, to ensure their collection and their delivery simultaneously, thanks to this instrument, which is very simple to use for the owner of the animal.

This instrument can receive all types of liquid medications administered orally. The hyper-palatable matrix, with a creamy liquid texture, is available in several flavors / several types of formulas to overcome the problem of cat weariness: the owner can change the flavor / type of formula if necessary.

The features of the instrument of this disclosure, described below, may be implemented at will, separately or in combination with each other.

The present disclosure also relates to an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, each of the products being liquid or viscous.

This instrument includes:
- a first compartment having one end with a first outlet orifice and an open opposite end, a first compression piston being mounted in said first compartment, said first piston having a so-called actuating end, said first compression piston and said first compartment defining a first chamber for receiving the first product,
- a second compartment distinct from said first compartment, this second compartment having an end with a second outlet orifice and an open opposite end, a second compression piston being mounted in said second compartment, said second piston having a so-called actuating end, said second compression piston and said second compartment defining a second chamber for receiving the second product,
- the first compartment being extended on the side of its open opposite end by an elongated hollow body partially surrounding the portion of said first piston located outside said first compartment when this first piston is in a fully retracted position, said elongated hollow body being open at least partially on one of its sides to define a lateral opening extending longitudinally,
- said instrument comprises a connecting device for coupling the first and second pistons and thus forming a common actuating head of said pistons so that said pistons are moved simultaneously when a push or pull is exerted on said common actuating head, and
- said junction device is configured to travel through at least part of said lateral opening when a push or pull is exerted on said common actuating head.

Thus, according to this embodiment, the barrier element comprises an elongated hollow body extending the first compartment on the side of its open opposite end.

According to a particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the junction device and this barrier-forming element are configured so that said junction device performs a translation during the movement of said actuating head.
Preferably, when moving the actuating head under the manual impulse of an operator or an activation device, the junction device thus performs a translation in the barrier element.

According to another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, this barrier-forming element surrounds said first piston to mask at least a portion of this first piston comprising said actuating end, at least in the fully retracted position of the latter and over an angular sector extending at a determined angle around an axis passing through said first piston, this angle delimiting an axial opening for passage of the junction device.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the joining device is arranged to couple the so-called actuating ends of said first and second pistons and thus form the common actuating head of said pistons.
Advantageously, the connecting device thus makes it possible to connect the so-called actuating ends of the pistons, to make the latter integral and thus form a common actuating head of these pistons, so that the products present in the compartments are distributed concomitantly, or even simultaneously. The lateral opening of the elongated hollow body allows the operation of the instrument by allowing the movement of the connecting device, and consequently of the actuating head to push the pistons and simultaneously discharge the products contained in the corresponding compartments or to suck up products to fill these compartments.

Alternatively, each of said first and second pistons comprising a rod, said connecting device is configured to connect the rods of said first and second pistons.

In a particular embodiment, the junction device is placed close to the actuating ends of the pistons so as not to limit the stroke of the pistons in their respective compartment.
For purely illustrative purposes, the connecting device may take the form of an arm having open rings at its ends to receive the piston rods by clipping.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the lateral opening being a slot defining a guide rail, said junction device is configured to be moved along said guide rail when said actuating head is actuated, thereby guiding the movement of said pistons.
This ensures a straight movement of the actuator head.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, at least part of said lateral opening, preferably its end placed on the side of the so-called actuating end of the corresponding piston, has a foolproof shape, so that only a junction device formed by the meeting of the so-called actuating ends of the pistons of two predetermined compartments, has the shape, or configuration, required to allow its movement on at least part of said lateral opening when actuating said common actuating head.
In other words, when this required shape or configuration is not obtained, the foolproof shape of said lateral opening prevents the actuation of the pistons.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, said elongated hollow body is configured to prevent access to the so-called actuating end of said first piston, at least to one finger.
Since the piston of the first compartment is not made accessible to the user's finger, this ensures that the contents of the first compartment cannot be inadvertently dispensed, which prevents any loss of product, for example.
The junction device connecting the so-called actuating ends of the pistons also ensures that the product contained in the first compartment cannot be delivered, or distributed, alone.
In addition, it is also ensured that both products are collected simultaneously, through a single action, so that the ratio between each product is respected.

Preferably, at least a portion of said elongated hollow body then has a tubular shape, the lateral opening extending to the free end of said elongated hollow body, optionally, the latter having a flared shape.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the first compartment defining a first main body axis and the second compartment defining a second main body axis, it comprises at least one assembly element of said first and second compartments, said at least one assembly element being configured to keep the first and second main axes aligned or substantially aligned on the same reference axis, on which said actuating head is centered or substantially centered.
Advantageously, this ensures that each piston is correctly centered on the axis of the compartment in which it is mounted, so as to avoid any untimely stopping of the advance of this piston in its compartment by jamming. It is therefore possible to distribute the entire contents of the chamber of the corresponding compartment.

Preferably, the first compartment comprises lateral extensions defining a lateral housing for receiving and retaining said second compartment.
Advantageously, and purely for illustrative purposes, the lateral extensions define with the outer wall of the first compartment a housing having a substantially U-shaped cross section of which each wing, or branch of the U, is flexible, or elastically deformable, to ensure access to the corresponding housing.
In a particular embodiment, the wings further form clipping means with said second compartment. In another embodiment, at least one additional fastening element is provided for assembling the two compartments and thus keeping them connected to each other.

Such an embodiment also makes it possible to use conventional commercial syringes which are received and mounted on the first compartment. The junction device is then an added part.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the so-called actuating ends of the first and second pistons are shaped to join together and thus define said common actuating head of said pistons.

The joining device is thus formed by the actuating ends of said pistons, which are shaped to join together and thus define this common actuating head of said pistons.

Advantageously, the so-called actuating end of one of said pistons comprises a female junction element such as a hollow part, while the so-called actuating end of the other piston comprises a male junction element such as a projecting part of a shape complementary to the hollow part, said male and female junction elements having complementary shapes to ensure their assembly by shape engagement.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, said joining device is an attached part, which is configured to couple the first and second pistons.
Such an embodiment makes it possible to implement conventional commercial syringes, possibly pre-filled, which are received and mounted on the first compartment.

Advantageously, the added part has an inner face comprising openings allowing access to housings each sized to receive the so-called actuating end of a corresponding piston.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, at least one of the outlet orifices of said compartments is off-center relative to the main axis of the body of the corresponding compartment to spatially bring said outlet orifices closer to each other, so that the outlet orifices are spaced apart by a maximum distance of, for example, 1.5 cm, preferably 1 cm and more preferably 0.5 cm.
Preferably, the first compartment comprising at least one assembly element of said first and second compartments, this outlet orifice is placed on the side of said at least one assembly element so as to be close to the outlet orifice of the second compartment thus assembled to the first compartment.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, said first and second compartments are cylindrical.
Preferably, at least a portion of the elongated hollow body is then also cylindrical.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, the first compartment and said elongated hollow body and/or said joining device and one of said pistons are formed from a single piece.
Here, the expression "the first compartment and said elongated hollow body are formed from a single piece" or "said connecting device and one of said pistons are formed from a single piece" means that they are made from a single piece.
For purely illustrative purposes, they are obtained by molding a plastic material.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, it comprises a connection means configured to receive the ends of said compartments each comprising an outlet orifice and to place these outlet orifices in fluid communication respectively with a first container comprising the first product to be sampled, and a second container comprising the second product to be sampled.
For purely illustrative purposes, a base is configured to receive and support the ends of said compartments each having an outlet orifice, and place these outlet orifices in fluid communication with corresponding internal conduits, which are each connected and in fluid communication with an attached container for supplying a corresponding compartment with a respective product.
Alternatively, these internal pipes may open onto an opposite face of the base to that receiving the ends of said compartments. This base is then configured to maintain the first and second main axes of said compartments aligned or substantially aligned on the same reference axis, on which said actuating head is centered or substantially centered.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the instrument for dispensing a first and at least one second product, this instrument makes it possible to correct/modify the dose.

In a particular embodiment, the volume of the chamber of a first compartment (intended to contain the composition comprising the active ingredient) is from 5 to 60 mL, preferably from 5 to 50 mL, and even better from 10 to 50 mL, for example 18 mL, 20 mL, 25 mL or 50 mL.

The volume of the chamber of the other compartment (intended to contain the appetizing matrix) is 10 to 300 mL or 10 to 250 mL, or 20 to 200 mL, and even better 40 to 180 mL and even more preferably 60 to 120 mL, for example 60 mL, 80 mL, 100 mL, 240 mL, 300 mL.

The present invention relates to a syringe for an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product as described above.
According to the invention,

- said syringe comprises a compartment having an end with an outlet orifice and an open opposite end, a compression piston being mounted in this compartment, said piston comprising a so-called actuating end, said compression piston and said compartment defining a chamber for receiving a product, and

- the compartment comprises a barrier element to prevent purely manual actuation of said first piston, said barrier element being configured to allow the movement of a connecting device with another piston through at least part of it, said compartment being made in one piece.

The present invention also relates to a syringe for an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product as described above.
According to the invention,
- this syringe comprises a compartment having one end with an outlet orifice and an opposite open end, a compression piston being mounted in this compartment making a sealing contact with the interior of the compartment, said piston comprising a so-called actuating end, said compression piston and said compartment defining a chamber for receiving a product,
- the compartment being extended on the side of its open opposite end by an elongated hollow body partially surrounding the portion of said piston located outside said compartment when this piston is in a fully retracted position, said elongated hollow body being open at least partially on one of its sides to define a lateral opening extending longitudinally,
- said elongated hollow body being configured to prevent access to the so-called actuating end of said first piston, at least to one finger.

Thus, the barrier element comprises an elongated hollow body extending the first compartment on the side of its open opposite end.

In the fully retracted position of the piston, the piston seal at its distal end is closest to the opposite open end of the corresponding compartment.

According to a particular embodiment of the syringe, said compartment and said elongated hollow body are formed from a single piece.

According to another particular embodiment of the syringe, said compartment having a main axis, its outlet orifice is off-center with respect to this main axis.

According to yet another particular embodiment of the syringe, the so-called actuating end of said piston comprises a female connecting element such as a hollow part of a shape complementary to a male connecting element placed at the so-called actuating end of another piston, or a male connecting element such as a projecting part, of a shape complementary to a female connecting element placed at the so-called actuating end of another piston, to ensure the assembly of the so-called actuating ends of these pistons by shape engagement.

The present disclosure further relates to a base for simultaneously loading the first and second compartments of an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product as described above, with their respective liquid or viscous product.
This base includes:
- a receiving and supporting base, said base being configured to receive and support said first and second compartments of the instrument,
- a first orifice for receiving and supporting a first container comprising the first product to be collected,
- and a second orifice for receiving and supporting a second container comprising the second product to be collected,
- said base comprising a connection means configured to receive the ends of said compartments each comprising an outlet orifice and to place these outlet orifices in fluid communication respectively with the first container and the second container, and
- said base comprising two connection orifices intended to be connected to the outlet orifices of said compartments, and the latter having different diameters, these connection orifices of said base each have a diameter corresponding to the diameter of a different outlet orifice to ensure a foolproofing function.

For purely illustrative purposes, the base of this base includes internal conduits enabling fluid communication between each receiving and supporting orifice of an attached container, for example one whose orifice is screwed into the corresponding orifice, and a corresponding compartment of the instrument.

Preferably, the receiving and supporting base is removable. It can further be configured to maintain the first and second main axes of said compartments aligned or substantially aligned on the same reference axis, on which said actuating head is centered or substantially centered.

For purely illustrative purposes, the receiving and support base is made entirely of a plastic material compatible with the products intended to be received in the compartments of the instrument.

Figures 1 to 5 schematically represent an instrument for dispensing a first product and at least a second product according to a particular embodiment of the present invention.

This instrument is, for example, a veterinary instrument used to simultaneously distribute two liquid products which are, for example, chemically incompatible, in order to ensure their mixing after their release from this instrument, in particular directly into the mouth of a pet such as a cat or a dog.

This instrument 10 comprises a first compartment 11 and a second compartment 16.

The first compartment 11 has for example an end with a first outlet orifice 12 and an open opposite end 13. A first compression piston 14 can be mounted in this first compartment in particular by making a sealed contact with the interior of this compartment. The first piston 14 can comprise a so-called actuating end 15, oriented opposite the first outlet orifice 12. Said first compression piston 14 and said first compartment 11 define for example a first chamber 23 for receiving a first liquid product. The first compartment 11 can be made of plastic or glass.

The second compartment 16 may be distinct and initially separate from the first compartment 11. The second compartment 16 has for example an end with a second outlet orifice 17 and an open opposite end 18. A second compression piston 19 may be mounted in this second compartment 16 in particular by making a sealing contact with the interior of this compartment. The second piston 19 may comprise a so-called actuating end 20, oriented opposite the second outlet orifice 17. The second compression piston 19 and the second compartment 16 define for example a second chamber 24 for receiving a second liquid product. The second compartment 16 may be made of plastic or glass.

The first and second compartments 11, 16 can be assembled by being arranged side by side or in parallel. For this, the first compartment 11, and more precisely the body of the first compartment, can comprise wing-shaped extensions 21 extending laterally to this first compartment 11 and placed opposite. A housing 27 is thus defined in which the second compartment 16 can be received for example by clipping.

The instrument 10 comprises a barrier element 22 to prevent purely manual actuation of the first piston 14.

The barrier element 22 may comprise an elongated hollow body placed in the extension of the upper end, or even of the open opposite end 13, of the first compartment 11, and more precisely of the body of the first compartment.

The elongated hollow body 22 and the first compartment 11 may be formed from a single piece, for example made of plastic material, for example transparent.

The elongated hollow body 22 may have a tubular shape, for example open on one of its sides so as to form a lateral opening 25. It may thus partially enclose a so-called external portion of the first piston 14. The so-called external portion corresponds to the part of the first piston located outside the first compartment 11. The first piston 14 is shown here in its fully retracted position.

The lateral opening 25 of the elongated hollow body 22 can extend above the so-called actuating end 15 of the first piston 14 when the latter is in its fully retracted position, so that it is impossible for the user to actuate this first piston 14 inadvertently.

The first chamber 23 of this first compartment 11 receives for example the appetizing matrix, thus ensuring no loss of appetizing matrix or that the latter cannot be delivered alone.

The so-called actuating ends 15, 20 of the first and second pistons 14, 19 have, for example, complementary shapes so that they can be assembled by shape engagement to form a common actuating head 26 allowing the simultaneous actuation of these pistons.

Furthermore, these so-called actuating ends 15, 20 can be shaped to ensure the movement of the common actuating head 26 for actuating the pistons 14, 19 through the lateral opening defined by the elongated hollow body 22.

Advantageously, there may be cooperation between the shape of the common actuating head 26 and the lateral opening 25 of the elongated hollow body 22 to guide the movement of the common actuating head 26.

Thus, by pushing the common actuating head 26 from a fully retracted position to a discharge position of each piston, the liquid products contained in the first and second compartments 11, 16 are simultaneously distributed or discharged. By pulling the common actuating head 26 backwards from the discharge position, product is simultaneously sucked up or taken from each of the compartments.

The outlet orifice 12 of the first compartment 11 may be off-center, or even offset to the side, to bring the outlet orifices 12, 17 of the two compartments 11, 16 closer together. Preferably, the spacing between these outlet orifices 12, 17 is less than or equal to 1.5 cm, preferably less than or equal to 1.0 cm or even more preferably, less than or equal to 0.5 cm.

The outlet orifices 12, 17 of the first and second compartments 11, 16 also have different diameters to differentiate these outlet orifices and form a foolproofing device. This avoids any error in filling the corresponding compartments.

The common actuating head 26 may comprise a main axis passing through the so-called actuating ends 15, 20 of the pistons 14, 19. The main axis may be arranged transversely or substantially transversely to the lateral opening 25.

The second compartment 16 makes it possible to collect a quantity of second liquid product B adjustable to the weight of the animal in mL/kg while the first compartment 11 is controlled by the second compartment 16 so as to collect a quantity of first liquid product A proportional to the second liquid product B in ratios B:A for example of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7, 1:8, 1:9 or even 1:10. The ratio is variable according to the dimensions of the first and second compartments 11, 16.

For purely illustrative purposes, the volume of liquid product stored in the second compartment 16 receiving the liquid product B is between 1 – 10 mL or 1 – 5 mL or even 1 – 2 mL. The volume of liquid product stored in the second compartment is for example 5 mL or 1 mL.

The common piston actuation head 26 can be used to dose each liquid product at a rate of 0.05 – 0.25 mL/kg for the product contained in the second compartment 16 and 0.1 to 1 mL/kg for the liquid product contained in the first compartment 11. The instrument thus makes it possible to dose very precise volumes.

For purely illustrative purposes, the precision of the graduation for the dosage in the second compartment 16 is 0.05-0.25 mL, preferably 0.05 to 0.1 mL, for example 0.05 mL.

The instrument for dispensing a first product and at least one second product may comprise connection means, such as pipes 83, 84 illustrated with respect to the . Note that these pipes 83, 84 are not necessarily integrated into a base as illustrated in the .

THE and 6 are a schematic representation of an instrument 50 for dispensing a first product and at least one second product according to another embodiment of the present invention.

The elements of the instrument 50 represented in and 6 bearing the same references as the elements of the instrument 10 illustrated in to 4 represent the same objects, which will not be described again below.

Instrument 50 represented at and 6 differs from that illustrated in to 4, in that the so-called actuating ends 51, 52 of the pistons have complementary shapes to ensure their assembly by engagement, which are of a different configuration. They are in particular less wide, the lateral opening of the longitudinal hollow body 53 being here narrower.

The cross-section of the housing defined by the lateral extensions 54 and the outer wall of the first compartment is also significantly different in being more rounded and therefore closer to a C than to a U.

THE to 9 illustrate a base 70, 80 for simultaneously loading the compartments of an instrument for dispensing a first product and a second product, called a double-compartment instrument, according to three variant embodiments.

Each of these bases 70, 80 may comprise supports for connecting thereto, for example, two containers 71, 72, 81, 82. Each base 70, 80 may comprise a base 88 for receiving and supporting a dual-compartment instrument. Each base 70, 80 may comprise liquid supply circuits that are entirely distinct, the liquid supply circuits being configured to be supplied by the containers 71, 72, 81, 82. Each of these liquid supply circuits may for example comprise a pipe 83, 84, opening at its other end onto a corresponding orifice 73, 74, 85, 86 of the base 88 for receiving and supporting a dual-compartment instrument. The supply circuits and more particularly the pipes 83, 84, form means of connection of the first and second compartments 11, 16, to the containers 71, 72, 81, 82.

These liquid supply circuits 83, 84 are therefore completely separate so that each compartment 11, 16 to be filled with the instrument can only be loaded with a single corresponding liquid product.

The orifices 73, 74, 85, 86 of this receiving and supporting base 88 are intended to receive and be connected for example by plugging with the ends of the compartments comprising the outlet orifices 12, 17. The outlet orifices can be in the form of plugs, or pins. The orifices 73, 74, 85, 86 can thus form a sort of socket on which the instrument to be filled is connected.

Note that the orifices 73, 74, 85, 86 of this receiving and support base 88 may have different diameters, each corresponding to the diameter of the outlet orifice 12, 17 of a respective compartment 11, 16 to ensure a foolproofing function.

The orifices 73, 74, 85, 86 of this receiving and support base 88 can be hermetically sealed using a plug 87, for example screwed. This plug 87 can come from one of the containers 71, 72, 81, 82.

In a particular embodiment, at least one of the containers 71, 72, 81, 82 may be a solution storage bag.

THE to 11 illustrate a base 90 for simultaneously loading the compartments of an instrument for dispensing a first product and a second product, called a dual-compartment instrument, according to a fourth embodiment.

The elements of the 90 base represented in and 11 bearing the same references as those of the bases 70, 80 illustrated in to 9 represent the same objects, which will not be described again below.

The 90 base represented in and 11 differs essentially from those represented in and 9 in that its receiving and supporting base 91 comprises a support 92 for receiving the instrument 10, 50 for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, between two uses of the latter. In addition, the conduits 93 of the receiving and supporting base 91 are removable so that they can be replaced at least in part by new conduits, when the instrument is intended to receive at least one new product.

Claims (4)

Syringe for an instrument (10, 50) for dispensing a first product and at least one second product, characterized in that
- said syringe comprises a compartment (11) having one end with an outlet orifice (12) and an open opposite end (13), a compression piston (14) being mounted in this compartment (11), said piston (14) comprising a so-called actuating end (15), said compression piston (14) and said compartment (11) defining a chamber (23) for receiving a product, and in that
- the compartment (11) comprises a barrier element (22) to prevent purely manual actuation of said first piston (14), said barrier element being configured to allow the movement of a connecting device with another piston through at least part of it, said compartment (11) being made in one piece. Syringe according to claim 1, characterized in that the barrier element comprises an elongated hollow body (22) extending the first compartment (11) on the side of its open opposite end (13), the elongated hollow body (22) at least partially surrounding the portion of said piston (14) located outside said compartment (11) when this piston (14) is in a fully retracted position, said elongated hollow body (22) being at least partially open on one of its sides to define a lateral opening (25, 53) extending longitudinally, and in that
- said elongated hollow body (22) is configured to prevent access to the so-called actuating end (15) of said first piston (14), at least to one finger. Syringe according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said compartment (11) having a main axis (28), its outlet orifice (12) is offset relative to this main axis (28). Syringe according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the so-called actuating end (15) of said piston (14) comprises a female connecting element such as a hollow part of a shape complementary to a male connecting element placed at the so-called actuating end (20) of another piston (19), or a male connecting element such as a projecting part, of a shape complementary to a female connecting element placed at the so-called actuating end (20) of another piston (19), to ensure the assembly of the so-called actuating ends (15, 20) of these pistons (14, 19) by form engagement.
