Abstract
A coating of epoxy resin is used as an interlayer between an established concrete surface and a fresh layer of water-based mortar or concrete being used to repair or cover the original surface. The resin may be mixed with fillers, etc., to the consistency of a paste or mortar. Pref. the fresh concrete is applied prior to the curing of the interfacial resin coating. Suitable for repairs or resurfacing pavements, airfield run-ways, etc., to use a minimum of resin to key the fresh cement to the original base, and inhibit subsequent interfacial delamination or cracking.
