Abstract

The audio visual apparatus allowing direct viewing on a television screen of photographic and cine films has a film feed mechanism (5) exposed through a window (6) to a light beam (7) fed from a light source (8) conveniently by fibre optics and focussed through on optical device (9) of fixed or variable focus. An image analyser (10) detects the transmitted light and generates chrominance and luminance signals which modulate a video signal fed to the aerial input of the television. Sound from the film is retrieved by a magnetic or light reader which produces a sound signal which is also fed to the television set.
