Abstract

The vehicle for transporting live poultry has piles of drawers along the full length of the vehicle, each drawer being full width of the chassis. Each drawer has two zones for carrying animals separated by a ventilation zone so that when all the drawers are closed there is a ventilation corridor along the whole central length of the lorry. The top of each drawer has four friction rollers for unloading the drawer above from either side of the lorry and the drawers are held during transport by removable outside uprights.
