Abstract
L'invention concerne une électrode pour l'usinage par étincelage érosif, comportant une couche active en métal ou en un alliage de plusieurs métaux à basse température d'évaporation et à basse chaleur latente de vaporisation. Le rendement de l'usinage augmente si cette couche active est constituée par un alliage comprenant une grande proportion de zinc. Ce revêtement convient particulièrement bien aux électrodes en forme de fil 1 ou de ruban, utilisées pour découper une pièce 2 selon une trajectoire prédéterminée. La machine pour l'usinage peut comprendre un bac 16 pour effectuer le dépôt électrolytique du zinc sur le fil avant son arrivée dans la zone d'usinage 3.
