Abstract
In the parent patent, wood chips carried by an air stream are deposited in a uniform layer on a conveyor passing through a distribution chamber by controlling the deposition with the aid of two oppositely directed air streams whose flow rate or speed is varied. In this addn, pneumatic stream of wood chips is passed through a transition duct in which the chips are uniformly dispersed in the stream prior to passing into the distribution chamber. Deposition of chips of smaller dia. on the chamber walls which may lead to electric discharges on account of low moisture content in the chips is prevented. Uneven deposition at high operative speeds is also prevented.
