Abstract

The cooling medium condenser is for use in a motor vehicle air-conditioning system, having finned tubes arranged in a serpentine pattern. Below a number of long parallel straight tube sections (3-7), connected in series and of the same length are a number of short straight parallel tube sections (8-11), also connected in series and of the same length. The tubes together form an assembly of horizontal L-shape. Mounting feet (15) can be provided on one at least of the arms of the L, for securing to the vehicle bodywork. Where the condenser is combined with a compressor, a liquid reservoir and evaporator, the surface area of the larger arm of the L may be roughly equal to that of a heat exccnager downstream of it.
