Abstract

The temp. within a vehicle body (1) is measured by a thermometer (2). It is made equal to the temp. set on a potentiometer (3) using an outside thermometer (4). Thermometer (9) measures temp. of inlet air to vehicle body. Fan (6) driven by electric motor (8) propels air in duct (5). A heat exchanger (10) in duct (5) is governed by electric valve (11) in the engine (7) cooling water circuit. Thermometer (13) measures water temp. A refrigerator unit (17) is used. It has an evaporator (14) in a duct (5). A condenser (18), a throttle valve (19) and a compressor (20) for refrigerant driven through a coupling (21) and a pulley (22) by means not shown from engine (7) return flow is controlled by vane (24). The system is controlled electrically at the valve (11) vane (24) coupling (21) and others by logic based on temps. at thermometers (2, 4, 9, 13 and 15).
