Abstract

The sandblaster consists of a grit supply hose (106) mounted in a conical hood. The hood has an elastomer ring along its bottom edge so that a sealed chamber is formed when the hood is placed on a surface. The grit supply hose is mounted in a sleeve (86) which in turn is supported in a bearing (87) in the top face of the hood. A chain wheel (96) is mounted on the sleeve which is driven by a chain. The sleeve extends into the hood. A framework (76) is mounted on the sleeve in which the end of the hose with jet is supported off-centre. The jet is supported in a spherical bearing (105) so that it can move over a circular path, when the sleeve is rotated.
