Abstract

The belt, such as is used in a metallurgical installation, is rubberised material and passes over guide rollers and around a drive cylinder. Surface scrapers are held in close proximity to the surface of the belt and remove some of the dust adhering to the belt. The cleaning device (4) consists of a water supply (6) and an air supply (5). The two fluids mix in the space outside the two supply pipes and the mixture is ejected through a nozzle (12) and onto the face of the belt. The direction of the jet is against the rotation of the belt.
