Abstract

The clamp comprises an upper boom for suspension from the crane hook, and from which two columns extend downwards, clear of each other. Two horizontal load forks extend from the columns, fitting under, or gripping pallets, containers, blocks etc. with a power adjustment of their distance from each other. The columns (33, 34) join onto a frame above the forks (28, 29). This frame incorporates the mechanism altering the distance between the forks, which can typically comprise two rams, whose piston rods are coupled to vertical members (22, 23) on which the forks are mounted. Guide tubes (8, 10) can be mounted on the mounted on the members, working in sleeves in the frame.
