Abstract

A shut off flow valve for gas or liquid is operated by the axial movement of an external permanent magnet (15). A membrane (5) separates the valve inlet from the outlet. A spring loaded plate (10) made from ferromagnetic material keeps the valve normally shut by pressing the membrane against the tube end (4) of the outlet (3). When magnet (15) is close enough to lift plate (10), the central bleed tube (12) releases the pressure in the valve chamber so that the membrane frees the entry (4) to the outlet tube (3), thus direct flow from inlet to outlet is possible.
