Abstract

Each door has fixed to its inside a series of horizontal boxes on top of each other, of a shape allowing the door to slide and pivot easily, and capable of holding objects, such as shoes, so that they are readily accessible. Each door is opened by being pushed sideways so that it pivots by ninety degrees along the inner side of the cupboard. When fully open, only a vertical strip equal in size to the distance between the pivot and the centre rim of the door projects outwards.
