Claims (12)

1. Menetelmä kuparia sisältävän materiaalin konvertoimiseksi raakakupariksi, joka menetelmä käsittää: (a) saatetaan tarjolle kuparia sisältävää materiaalia, joka käsittää kuparisulfideja ja rautasulfideja, jolloin kuparia sisältävä materiaali käsittää ainakin 35 painoprosenttia kuparia kuparia sisältävän materiaalin kokonaispainosta; (b) kuparia sisältävä materiaali saatetaan reagoimaan uunissa happea sisältävän kaasun kanssa fluksin poissa ollessa rautasulfidin ja kuparisul-fidin hapettumisen aikaansaamiseksi ja kontrolloidaan happea sisältävän kaasun injektiota sekä lämpötilaa niin, että tuloksena oleva konvertterikuona on sulafaasissa raakakuparin ja konvertterikuonan saamiseksi.
2. Patenttivaatimuksen 1 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin vaiheessa (b) hapen osittaispaine (pC>2) on 1-100 Pa, edullisesti 2-70 Pa, edullisemmin 10-30 Pa.
3. Patenttivaatimuksen 1 tai 2 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin vaiheessa (b) lämpötila on vähintään 1200 °C, edullisesti 1220-1450 °C, edullisemmin 1300-1400 °C.
4. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-3 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin vaiheessa (b) hapetetun kuparin pitoisuus konvertterikuonassa on vähintään 30 painoprosenttia, edullisesti 30-90 painoprosenttia, edullisemmin 35-70 painoprosenttia, edullisimmin 40-60 painoprosenttia konvertterikuonan kokonaispainosta.
5. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-4 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin saadun raakakuparin rikkipitoisuus on alle 0,15 % S raakakuparissa, edullisesti 0,06-0,10 S raakakuparissa.
6. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-5 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin kuparia sisältävä materiaali käsittää vähintään 35 painoprosenttia, edullisesti 40-78 painoprosenttia, edullisemmin 55-75 painoprosenttia kuparia kuparia sisältävän materiaalin kokonaispainosta.
7. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-6 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin kuparia sisältävä materiaali valitaan metallikivestä, valkometallista ja näiden sekoituksista.
8. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-7 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin konvertointivaihe (b) suoritetaan suspensiosulatuksena tai haudesulatuksena, erityisesti suspensiosulatuksena.
9. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-8 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin konvertointi saadaan aikaan liekkisulatusuunilla (FCF).
10. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-8 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin konvertointi saadaan aikaan Pierce-Smith-sulatusuunilla (PS).
11. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-10 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin happea sisältävä kaasu on happirikasteinen ilma, puhdas happi ja mikä tahansa näiden sekoitus, edullisesti happirikasteinen ilma.
12. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-11 mukainen menetelmä, jolloin piidioksidia (S1O2), kalsiumoksidia (CaO) ja kalsiumkarbonaattia (CaCOz) ei ole läsnä fluksina vaiheessa (b).
