Abstract

Procedimiento para espumas de resinas fenólicas, termo- resistentes y no corrosivas, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) hacer reaccionar un fenol con una solución acuosa de un aldehido, en un medio alcalino, a una temperatura próxima a los 100ºC, en presencia de un agente expandionante, un catalizador ácido, y de una cantidad eficaz de un agente de superficie activa, para preparar una resina resólica de fenol- aldehido; (b) poner la mezcla de reacción bajo condiciones normales productoras de espuma sólida; y (c) incorporar en la mezcla de reacción, antes de su espumado, tetraborato sódico anhidro de un tamaño de partícula de malla 12-200.
