Abstract

A process to prevent tilting of a ship's hull during loading and unloading of comparatively heavy cargo units by means of the ship's own cargo gear, using at least one supporting leg mechanism on board the ship to support the ship against a top face on a quay and using a manometer in said mechanism to control that a positive load is applied continuously in said mechanism against said top face provided mainly by trimming the ballast tanks of the ship. A supporting leg mechanism provided with a manometer and means to adjust the mechanism in relation to the quay level.
