Abstract

A slub catcher 28 in combination with a stop motion 22 comprises a narrow slot 63 having a wide lower opening 64. Yarn passes through the slot and over spring biased arms 23 and supports a freely pivoted arm 42. If the yarn is tensioned excessively, by e.g. a slub caught in the catcher, the arms 23 are pulled down and the yarn slides off them. The arm 42 falls to make a contact and stop the machine. The machine is also stopped by arm 42 if the yarn slackens.
