Abstract
A process for converting light naphtha, comprising contacting light naphtha, with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst suitable for the dehydrogenation of organic materials under conditions of temperature and pressure and with a proportion of light naphtha hydrogen such that at least half of the light naphtha is converted to saturated C1-C4 hydrocarbons and the remaining part in a liquid having at least 70% by weight of aromatics, the remainder consisting mainly of saturated C5 hydrocarbons.
