Abstract

A fuel manifold designed to supply fuel to a number of fuel injectors comprises an elongated semifinished metal part 2 and a number of cup-shaped fittings 5 each defining a housing 7 for a respective injector. The process consists in forming the end of each fitting 5 into a rod 8 having an axial hole 9 in forming on the semifinished part 2 a series of seats 12 for the aforementioned rods in inserting the rods 8 inside the seats 12 and in permanently deforming the rods against the respective seats for securing the fittings 5 to the semifinished part 2. The deformation may be effected by drawing a tool 10 through the hole 9.
