Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing (cigarette) packages according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 8 for carrying out the manufacturing method.
- a well-known cigarette pack of this type has an inner pack in which a group of cigarettes is enveloped partially or predominantly by an inner collar as a support and protective organ.
- the inner collar of thin cardboard with the cigarette group is completely surrounded by a thermally sealable film to form the inner package.
- the film is sealed by means of sealing seams on the originally open sides.
- a transverse or longitudinal connection seam has been created as a tubular seam, namely when joining edges of a continuous film web, which is folded around a tube around successively transported cigarette groups with inner collar - cigarette block - folded around.
- the invention is concerned with a further development of the manufacturing technology for such or similar packages.
- the task is to do that Manufacturing process and the device in such a way that with high-performance production high-quality (sealing) packs arise.
- the inventive method with the features of claim 1 and the device according to the invention with the features of claim 8 is formed.
- the invention is based on the recognition that in a first step for the production of the sealing block - inner packing - by (in production) transversely sealed seams - side seams - and simultaneously performed separating cut the inner pack is separated from the subsequent (tubular) film web. This process requires a certain distance of the sealed seam or side seam from the package contents, namely a cigarette group.
- the innovative method step is that in a subsequent sealing cycle parallel sealing seams - part seams - are attached, immediately adjacent to the packing wall side wall. In this second sealing step, the tension in the envelope is increased, so that a dimensionally stable, precisely formed (inner) package is formed.
- An equally important measure for providing a precisely formed (inner) package is to expel excess air within the package out of it, via specially positioned air openings that are closed after removal of the excess air.
- Oversize lateral fins are reduced to the size of the package (inner sidewall) by separating a trim strip or by zig-zag folding.
- the fins, including the transverse hose seam, are preferably fixed by means of heat in the end position (contact with a packing wall).
- the present innovation is concerned with the manufacture and handling of substantially parallelepipedic packages in the form of a packing or inner package 10.
- This consists of a film blank which completely surrounds the contents of the package - a cigarette group 11 of cigarettes 12 arranged in rows.
- the envelope preferably consists of moisture and aroma-tight, thermally sealable film.
- the cigarette group 11 is at least partially surrounded by a protective and supporting member, namely an inner collar 13, within the film envelope.
- the U-shaped inner collar 13 has a front or top wall 61 and transverse side tabs 62, the latter in the region of inner side walls 14, 15 of the inner package 10.
- a bottom wall of the thus tray-shaped inner collar 13 is expediently provided.
- the inner pack 10 is provided with opening means which allow multiple opening and closing.
- a removal opening (not shown) of the inner package 10 extends in the region of an inner end wall 16 and preferably adjacent areas of inner front wall 17 and inner rear wall 18.
- the closure means is an outer closure tab 19.
- a special feature is the design and arrangement of seals produced by thermal sealing. These can be arranged on opposite sides or walls of the inner package 10, in the present case in the region of the inner side walls 14, 15.
- the closure seams-side seams 20 extend over the full length or height of the inner side walls 14, 15 and are formed as a fin seam.
- the production or attachment of the side seams 20 is integrated into the manufacturing process of the inner package 10.
- the cigarette group 11 - with inner collar 13 - is enveloped by a continuous film web (not shown) to form a film tube with internally arranged package contents.
- Sealing members in the present case sealing rollers 21 with radially directed sealing jaws 22, generate the transverse side seams 20 between successive groups of cigarettes 11.
- the resultant inner package 10 is separated from the subsequent film tube in the region of the double-width side seams 20 by a severing knife.
- Inner packs 10 are now transported with closure or side seams 20 pointing transversely to the conveying direction, namely on a packing belt 23.
- the inner packs 10 are corresponding during this phase Fig. 1 formed, namely with side seams or part seams 24, which have a greater distance from the package contents or from the inner side wall 14, 15 in the final version.
- further partial seams are applied, in addition to the partial seam 24, directly on the inner side wall 14, 15.
- These further partial seams in the finished inner package 10 form the side seams 20 accordingly Fig. 3, Fig. 4 ,
- the initially resulting double-wide sealing seams (fin seams) 20/24 are severed in the longitudinal direction, so that an edge-side parting strip 25 is produced as a waste product.
- the remaining, narrow seam strip - with the side seam 20 - is folded over under contact with the side wall 14, 15, so that a total exactly cuboidal shape of the inner package 10 is formed with the side seam 20.
- the inner package 10 thus formed preferably finds accommodation in an outer package 26, in this case in the form of a folding box or hinged lid. Accordingly, the package consists of a (lower) box part 27 and a hinged lid 28 connected thereto. In the outer package or in the box part 27, in the present case, a collar 29 is attached. This one points a collar front wall with recess 30, in the area of the exposed closure label 19 for opening and closing the inner pack 10 can be detected.
- the device relates to the manufacturing steps in the region of the inner side walls 14, 15, but also a production-technically meaningful feeding of the packs 10 to a folding turret 31 (FIG. Fig. 18 ) for producing the complete package or outer package 26 with the inner package 10 as content.
- the (unfinished) inner packs 10 are fed through the packing belt 23 to a turning station 32.
- the inner packages 10 transported in the transverse position are rotated in the (horizontal) transport plane by 90 °, such that subsequently the inner packages 10 with the inner side walls 14, 15 point in the transport direction, in this case in a relative position with front closure label 19, thus front inner end wall 16.
- the inner packs 10 are taken over by a connection belt 33 and transported.
- the transfer of the packs from the packaging belt 23 to the connection belt 33 is effected by a top-side conveyor, in the present case by a preferred roller 34.
- the interior packs 10, which are still transverse are first aligned by lateral guides 35 and then in a free region of the connection belt 33 turned by a turning device.
- This consists here of an eccentrically mounted with respect to the packs 10, counter-driven upper turning roller 36 which rests with the peripheral surface for performing the turning operation on the free upper side of the pack 10.
- the turned-over package 10 is then conveyed into the region of an alignment station 38, by the connection belt 33 in cooperation with a conveyor roller 39 at the top of the packages 10.
- aligners arranged on both sides of the movement path act on the package 10, so that the latter is transported further in an exact position and transferred to a belt conveyor, namely a package conveyor 40.
- the alignment members are preferably designed as straightening rollers 41.
- a number of successive straightening rollers 41 are freely rotatably positioned, in the present case six straightening rollers 41 on each side.
- each straightening roller 41 abuts a lateral region of the package, in this case in the region of an upper, free longitudinal edge of the inner package 10 below Support on longitudinal edges of the inner collar 13.
- the packs 10 are automatically aligned by the transport through the plurality of straightening rollers 41 to the transfer to other conveyor or processing institutions.
- the straightening rollers 41 have a further object in the present case, namely the formatting of the inner package 10. This is provided with an inner collar 13 which has beveled collar edges 63.
- the envelope of the inner package 10 is adjusted by the straightening rollers to the (front) contour due to the chamfered collar edges 63.
- the straightening rollers 41 are designed and installed in such a way that they extend in the upper cross-sectional area of the packing 10, that is to say in the region of the upper half of the (unfinished) inner side wall 14, 15 ( Fig. 8 ).
- the packs 10 reach the area of a (further) sealing station - refixing station 43.
- the formation of the side seams 20 is completed by attaching a further partial seam as a side seam 20.
- the lateral areas - inner side wall 14, 15 - are detected by guides, in each case by two superimposed guide rods 46, 47, which are arranged at a small distance above each other and record the laterally directed fins of the inner packs 10 in the region of a longitudinal gap.
- the guide rods 46, 47 are positioned so that they form the inner side walls 14, 15 by pressing the film on the inner cigarette block or on the inner collar 13, ie the cavity formed in this area (FIG. Fig. 10 ) remove.
- the guide rods 46, 47 may alternatively be formed with a cross-section that is more clearly adapted to the cuboid contour of the inner package 10.
- the packages 10 Immediately following the lateral pressure organs 46, 47, the packages 10 reach the secondary sealing station 43.
- the side seams 20 are completed by attaching a further partial seam - side seam 20 - directly on the package contents.
- the aforementioned sealed seam is produced by corresponding lateral sealing elements, here by pairs of sealing rolls 48, 49, each with an upper roll and a lower roll (FIG. Fig. 11 ).
- the sealing rollers 48, 49 are arranged so that the relative to these transported packages 10 a tight against the inner side walls 14, 15 sealing seam - side seam 20 - receive.
- the packs 10 completed with regard to the sealing seams then pass into the region of a separating station 50.
- lateral projections of the fins formed by the sealing seams are separated, namely the separating strips 25 (FIG. Fig. 3, Fig. 4 ).
- the separating station 50 has separating rollers or rotating cutting disks 51 on both sides of the path of movement of the packs 10. These become effective in the area of the laterally directed fins, such that the separating strips 25 are separated during transport.
- the knife wheels 51 act here also as rollers trained, rotating counter blades 52 below the plane of the fins together.
- the packs 10 are also transported in the region of the separating station 50 by the pack conveyor 40 with upper flange 44 and lower flange 45.
- This fixed folding members 53 cause due to the relative movement that the laterally directed fins of the side seams 20 folded down (down) and to the (lower, half) surface of the Inner side wall 14, 15 are created.
- the side seams 20 now have the position according to Fig. 5 but are not fixed yet.
- lateral guides - fin guides 54 - are arranged, which fix the folding position of the side seams 20.
- the straps end 44, 45 of the package conveyor 40 and further (upper and lower) conveyor belts 55, 56 take over the (further) transport of the packs 10.
- These now go into a fuser 57 for attaching the fins of the side seams 20 at the Inner packing 10 serve for this purpose lateral heating and Andschreiborgane, in this case stationary, elongated heating elements 58.
- These are preferably rectangular in cross-section ( Fig. 15 ).
- the heating elements 58 face the side walls 14, 15 of the packs, in the present case with smooth, flat heating surfaces, so that heat (and light pressure) is transferred to these surfaces and the fins of the side seams 20 are thereby fixed.
- the heating elements 58 are designed so that elongated, controllable heating cartridges 60 are arranged in the interior.
- the device is provided with means for formatting the inner package 10 by applying heat and pressure.
- heating bars 89 arranged on both sides of the movement path of the inner packs 10 are directed in an inclined position (FIG. Fig. 10 ) to form the front corner portion of the inner packs 10 with respect to particular contours.
- the slanted heating bars 89 receive contact with the oblique material strips due to the inner collar edges 90 (FIG. Fig. 10 ). This contoured area of the inner package is therefore specially shaped.
- a further measure for the creation of precisely formed inner packs 10 is their venting, that is, the removal of excess air from the interior of the (sealed) inner pack 10.
- the film wrap of the inner pack is provided with ventilation openings 64 ( Fig. 1 to Fig. 4 ). These are expediently already attached to the continuous film web for producing the blanks and are formed as a U-shaped punched with outward or to the free edge directed tongue.
- the vents 64 are mounted in the region of the inner side walls 14, 15, ie outside the range of the package contents (inner collar cigarette group). It is further provided that the vent openings 64 are mounted in the inner rear wall 18 ( Fig. 2 ), substantially between the package contents and the outer sealed seam or partial seam 24.
- air openings 65 are created by interrupting the partial seam 24 so that it consists of different sections.
- the U-shaped ventilation openings 64 are designed and arranged such that a partial area with the separating strip 25 is removed and another partial area is closed by the second partial seam or by the side seam 20.
- the air is removed from the interior of the package 10 by (mechanical) pressure means, in particular by the belts of the package conveyor 40, which press on the large-area sides of the package. Furthermore, air is forced out of the package by the guide rods 46, 47 in the lateral area.
- the finished packs 10 are fed to the fusing turret 31, following the transporting movement, following the fusing station 57, which feeds the packs 10 to the folding turret 31 ( Fig. 18 ).
- a complex intermediate conveyor 67 is turned on, which causes an extension of the transport path and also fulfills other functions.
- a belt conveyor namely an acceleration belt 68 (FIG. Fig. 16 ). This takes the inner packs 10 between a top flange and a bottom flange. Due to the corresponding drive, the packs 10 are moved in this area at an increased conveying speed.
- the packages 10 are transferred from the belt conveyor 68 to an upward conveyor 69.
- This has the task to bring the packages to the higher level of another packing conveyor, namely a rotary conveyor 70.
- the upward conveyor 69 is formed as an air conveyor, in which the packages 10 are transported by supplying compressed air in a conveying channel 71, wherein the air in the Essentially effective on the back of the packs.
- the conveying channel 71 is arc-shaped, namely leads from a horizontal inlet channel 72 via a vertical conveyor section 73 in a likewise horizontally directed outlet channel 74. In the region of the arcuate design of the conveyor channel 71, the dimensions are chosen so that the packs 10 are transported zwteilungsok and deflected can.
- Compressed air is introduced in the lower or inlet region of the packs 10 into the delivery channel 71, by (two) compressed-air connections 75, 76, which open on opposite sides (top, bottom) into the channel 71, preferably at an angle in the conveying direction.
- compressed air connections 75, 76 the required for the transport of the packs 10 compressed air is supplied from a central compressed air source.
- the packs 10 are deposited on a (horizontal) belt 77 of the rotary conveyor 70 and initially reduced in terms of conveying speed, in this case by effective at the top of the inner packs 10 brake rollers 78. Then enter the packs 10 in the Here, the packages are rotated by 180 °, so that the hitherto in the transport direction in front lying inner end wall 16 is directed backwards with the opening aid, the inner bottom wall is so forward.
- the turning station 79 is equipped with two rotating rollers 80, 81, which are associated with Fig. 7 described manner cause the rotation of the packs 10, first by 90 ° through the first rotary roller 80 and then by another 90 ° by the following rotary roller 81st
- the packages 10 are transferred from the intermediate conveyor or rotary conveyor 70 via an arcuate, downwardly directed chute 82 to a down conveyor 83 ( Fig. 18 ).
- This consists of (two) stacked, vertical belt conveyors.
- the first, upper belt conveyor serves as a stowage belt 84. This conveyor has the task to receive the 10 supplied in free fall packs and promote downward to form a series of seals or Staugol.
- the (vertical) distance following second upright belt conveyor is a separating belt 85, which takes over the packs 10 successively from the stowage belt 84 and due to increased speed of the supply to the folding turret 31 appropriate distance of the packs 10 creates.

The invention is concerned with a further development of the manufacturing technology for such or similar packages. The task is to do that Manufacturing process and the device in such a way that with high-performance production high-quality (sealing) packs arise.
To solve this problem, the inventive method with the features of
An equally important measure for providing a precisely formed (inner) package is to expel excess air within the package out of it, via specially positioned air openings that are closed after removal of the excess air.
Oversize lateral fins are reduced to the size of the package (inner sidewall) by separating a trim strip or by zig-zag folding. The fins, including the transverse hose seam, are preferably fixed by means of heat in the end position (contact with a packing wall).

The present innovation is concerned with the manufacture and handling of substantially parallelepipedic packages in the form of a packing or
A special feature is the design and arrangement of seals produced by thermal sealing. These can be arranged on opposite sides or walls of the
The production or attachment of the side seams 20 is integrated into the manufacturing process of the
The
In the area of the turning
Bearbeitungsorgane. In the region of the
The air is removed from the interior of the
The
The (vertical) distance following second upright belt conveyor is a separating
A deflecting
