Description

The present invention relates to a slider for a lifeline system for fall protection, which can move along the lifeline. It has applications in the field of the safety of people working at height.

For safety reasons, it is necessary for people working at height, including roof terraces, to be provided with fall protection systems. In general these people are wearing a safety harness that is hooked to a lifeline. This lifeline includes a tensioned cable that is fixed / anchored in a strong manner by cable supports to the frame. The person is connected to the cable of the lifeline via a slider which can move along the cable while enclosing said cable.

For functional reasons, the person is usually connected to the slide on the side of the latter which corresponds to the side of the cable where the person works. If the person wishes to pass on the other side of the cable, it must generally unhook from the slider to re-hook on the other side or the slider must be removed from the cable and reversed if it has only one means hanging on one side only. All these operations take time and are especially dangerous because the person has to go out for a while. It is therefore desirable to have means that allow a user of a lifeline to pass on one side or the other of the cable of said lifeline without having to unhook the slide.

In addition, these lifelines are generally subject to the external environment (lightning, oxidation ...) and may be subject to significant constraints when users fall. This can result in deformations or destruction of the elements that compose it and in particular cable holders. However, these generally comprise a foot surmounted by a hollow elongated cylindrical head through which the cable is passed by sliding it in said head. An end of said cable having been slid into the cylinder of the head of the support by a first of the two axial ends of the head (in the direction of the hollow cylinder of the head), one until it comes out to the other end of the head. It is therefore necessary to install a bracket or even remove one from the lifeline, to disassemble one end of the cable. In addition, if the media to be installed or removed is in the middle of others, it is also necessary to remove the cable from these other media. This results in a waste of time and a complexity of the operation that can be very important. It is therefore desirable to have lifeline cable supports that do not need to release one / both ends of the cable to at least install new cable supports on the lifeline.

Finally, the lifeline which therefore implements a tensioned cable and therefore normally straight, can be made to follow non-linear forms of the frame on which it is installed. In particular, towards the ends of the frame, there may be a return of the cable in a new direction compared to the previous direction if you want a cable unique current on the frame. Indeed, the solution to avoid such a return cable would be to implement separate sections of tensioned cables, so separate life lines of different directions but this oblique the user to unhook and re-hook when it change of life line, which can be relatively dangerous. It is therefore desirable to have means for creating a turn / inflection of the cable of the lifeline that can be traversed by a slide without risk of blockage or resistance.

It is for these and other reasons that will emerge as a result of the present invention.

We know from the document WO 02/092171 a slider having a rotating handle for fastening the lanyard. Thus, a lifeline system for fall protection of a user is described, the system comprising a tensioned cable held by supports and forming the lifeline, the cable supports having support legs for attachment to a frame, the user being attached by a lanyard to the lifeline via a slider enclosing the cable in a cable channel of the slider, said slider being slidable along the cable to allow the user to be attached to move a first lateral side of the lifeline, the lanyard being removably secured by a lanyard attachment on a side side of the slider corresponding to the first side side of the lifeline. According to the invention the slide comprises a means for passing the lanyard fastening on one lateral side or the other side of the slider without having to disassemble and reassemble said lanyard fastener and without having to disassemble the slide of the cable, said means being a closed lanyard fixing path and extended between the two lateral sides of the slider and wherein said lanyard fastener can be slidable, at least one detachable locking means being disposed along the path to block a lateral side or the other said attachment of lanyard, in the corresponding end of the path.

The present invention, without being limited thereby, will now be exemplified with the following description of embodiments and implementation in relationship with :
  • the Figure 1 which represents a slide seen from the front, in the axis of the cable channel,
  • the Figure 2 which represents a slide seen in profile / laterally,
  • the Figure 3 which represents a slide seen from above,
  • the Figure 4 which represents a slide seen from the front, the removable closing means of the cable channel being this time unlocked and open,

  • the Figure 10 which represents a guide sleeve installed at an angle of a construction.

The slider 1 has a generally elongate shape between two opposite ends on which the two ends of a cable channel 6 into which the cable has passed. Each cable support has a base for attachment to the ground -or any other adapted part of the frame of the frame, surmounted by a foot itself surmounted by a hollow cylindrical head through the cable is passed. The foot is of relatively small thickness with respect to its width, the width of the foot being considered in a plane passing along the length of the cable, the height of the foot being adapted to the use for a more or less high positioning of the cable compared to the ground. The channel of the slider is also open downwards by an opening 5 of width such that the thickness of the foot can pass through and the shape and size of the cable channel 6 such that the head of the support and the cable can pass in order to to allow the sliding of said slide on said cable and on the supports. However, the width of the opening 5 of the cable channel is smaller than the diameter of the cable so that it can not leave the slide through the opening 5, from the bottom of the slide. This downward opening 5 can however widen thanks to a removable closure means 3. In the closed position of the closing means 3, the slide can not be removed from the cable ( Figures 1, 2 , 3 , 6 and 7 with closing means 3 closed) and in open position ( Figures 4 and 5 with closure means 3 open after unlocking), the slide can be removed from the cable. The removable closure means 3 comprises a locking means 4 which requires a double action on the part of the user to be unlocked. An accidental opening of the removable closure means 3 is therefore virtually impossible.

Thus, the slider 1 comprises a body 2 preferably one-piece and preferably metal or metal alloy on which are reported movable elements including the closure means 3 and a removable locking means 8 disposed along a fixing path of Loin 9 closed and extended between the two sides of the slider. The detachable locking means 8 makes it possible to isolate the two ends 7 of the remainder of the fastening path 9 and in which the lanyard is normally placed and is located captive, on one side or the other, the rest of the lanyard fixing path 9 being used only for passing the lanyard from one lateral side of the slider to the other without it being detached from the slider . The distribution of the material in the body 2 of the slider is such that its center of gravity is lowered so that the slider maintains a defined orientation when it is used on the cable, ie with the opening 5 downwards. slide.

In order to facilitate sliding of the slider on the cable and on the support heads and feet, the two opposite inputs of the cable channel 6 comprise a double-inclined funnel shape, on the one hand downwards and middle of the slider as referenced 10 on the Figure 2 and, on the other hand, to the cable channel as referenced 11 Figures 5 , 6 and 7 .

On the Figure 4 , the closing means 3 is in the open position following the unlocking of the locking means 4. As a result, the downward opening 5 is enlarged and now allows the cable to be passed to or from the cable channel 6. On the Figure 5 in perspective, it can be seen that it is the entire length of the opening 5 downwards and the cable channel that is concerned by this opening for cable release since we can see the rear closing means 3 which is open. This opening of the closing means is effected by tilting.

The Figures 6 and 7 show the two unlocking positions of the detachable locking means 8 of the lanyard disposed along the fastening path of the lanyard 9. At rest, not actuated, the detachable locking means isolates the two ends 7 of the lanyard fixing path 9 and the The lanyard is attached to the slider in one of these two ends from which it can not normally escape. When the user wishes to pass his lanyard from one lateral side to the other of the slider, the latter releases the detachable locking means 8 on the initial end side of the lanyard to pass in the path portion of the lanyard. attachment of lanyard 9 upwards and middle of the slider. Then, it unlocks the removable locking means 8 of the end side where he wants to see the loin arrive and pass in this end. Once the lanyard arrives at its destination, the removable locking means 8 is reset and the two ends are thus isolated from the rest of the lanyard fixing path. The detachable locking means 8 is therefore movable in tilting and, preferably, a return means is implemented to automatically return it to its rest position in which the two ends 7 are isolated from the rest of the lanyard attachment path , when the user does not activate it. This return means can be a spring.

As regards the cable support, the latter has a contoured lateral opening - and / or with baffles - of such a width that the cable is passed when the latter is not (too) tense in order to introducing laterally into the hollow head of said cable support. The fact that the opening is bypassed so that the cable, once stretched, can not come out laterally of the head.

On the other hand, in conventional supports, without lateral opening of introduction of cable or means of opening of the head, one end of the cable must be passed through one of the axial ends of the support head to introduce it into the head. : the introduction of the cable into the support head is axial. It is therefore necessary to disassemble the lifeline to access one of its ends.

Thanks to the cable introduction opening implemented on the support head, this is no longer necessary since the cable is introduced laterally, on the side of the support head. At most, it may be necessary to relax the cable in order to be able to deform / fold it so that it can pass through the circumferential opening and / or the baffles of the support head in the event that the shape of this bypassed opening or baffles would require it. Since the introduction opening of the cable inside the head of the support is circumvented along the support or at least has portions not parallel to the installed cable or comprises baffles, effective maintenance is obtained. cable inside the head once the cable is tight. Indeed, if the opening was completely parallel to the cable (taut), it would be enough for a simple tilting or lateral translation of the support relative to the cable so that the latter leaves the head. The elongate lateral opening, between the axial ends of the head, for introducing the cable into the support head is therefore not parallel to the axis of the cable that the support must retain or if it is it is not not over its entire length and is implemented baffles or locks possibly removable-for example by rotation-, particularly at the ends of the support head. Preferably, a contoured side opening with baffles or a helical shape or other suitable shape is used, having in any case non-parallel parts to the installed cable.

The cable support example 12 shown on the Figures 8 and 9 comprises a hollow cylindrical head 13 elongate in the direction of the cable and inside which can be arranged and maintained the cable. This head comprises along its length, between its two axial ends, an elongated lateral opening 17 of a width such that it allows the lateral introduction of the cable inside the head. The head 13 is disposed on a foot 14 of reduced thickness so that the downward opening of the cable channel of the slide can pass, the head 13 can pass into the cable channel of the slide. To facilitate this passage, the axial ends of the head have a taper 18. The support leg 14 is fixed to a frame via a base 15. The foot 14 is fixed to the base 15 via an indexed attachment 16 adjustable lateral inclination of the foot relative to the plane of the base. The indexing of the fastener 16 has inwardly (thus not visible on the Figures 8 and 9 ) a pin being placed in a determined orifice of a series of indexing holes when the fastener 16 is locked. When a stress or excessive shock is applied to the cable support 12, the pin breaks. In a variant, the pin instead of breaking disappears and it is possible to reposition the cable support at a later date without changing or repairing elements of the cable support.

The guide sleeve 19 of the Figure 10 is intended to round the cable path of the lifeline. This sleeve is a rigid, curved, and elongate piece which comprises, from one end to the other, a lateral opening 22 allowing the lateral introduction of the cable and such that the inner side of the curvature remains closed so that the cable once installed in the sleeve can bear and be maintained side of the curvature. In addition, the sleeve 19 has at each of its two ends a lateral baffle 23 corresponding here to a lateral opening of a tubular sleeve end portion. On the Figure 10 , the lateral opening 22 is much wider than the lateral opening 23 end. In another embodiment, these two openings have the same width corresponding to that of the lateral opening 23 end. It is understood that any other variant can also work.

On the Figure 10 , a guide sleeve 19 for life line is shown installed at an angle of a construction 21. For this, the guide sleeve was fixed at both ends on two cable supports 20 having in this example a conventional head without lateral opening of cable insertion. In other embodiments, cable holders 12 of the cable-insertion side-opening type 17 are used, and the lateral guide-pin end openings 23 correspond to the lateral openings 17 of the supports. cable 12.
