Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for fastening a housing, in particular that of a motor vehicle battery, on a carrier plate.
- Car battery housings have an essentially cubic shape. They usually stand on a carrier plate, one end of which is resiliently bent and engages behind a step on a side wall of the battery housing. The opposite side wall of the housing also has a step, and the carrier plate projects beyond the housing base on this side.
- To attach the housing to the carrier plate one end of an S-shaped leaf spring is brought into contact as a fastening flange at this step, while the other end rests on the protruding carrier plate.
- a screw passing through the flat central part of the leaf spring and through the protruding part of the carrier plate is secured with a lock nut.
- This type of attachment is cumbersome, it requires a number of steps and can only be carried out with the help of a tool and, if e.g. an exchange of the battery is necessary to be solved again the time required for this is considerable and also represents a cost factor.
- Another problem is the recycling of the flanges and screws according to the European guidelines.
- the object of the invention is to provide a device for fastening a housing, in particular that of a motor vehicle battery, to a carrier plate, which allows the housing to be fastened to the carrier in a few simple steps and without the use of a tool, and just as easily and quickly to solve again.
- a tool for fastening a housing, in particular that of a motor vehicle battery, to a carrier plate, which allows the housing to be fastened to the carrier in a few simple steps and without the use of a tool, and just as easily and quickly to solve again.
- no scrap parts should be created if possible.
- this is achieved in that a resiliently bent fastening part is placed under tension between the wall of the one on the carrier plate Housing and a holding edge protruding vertically from the support plate is inserted. This can be done with the simplest of movements and without the aid of a tool. The spreading effect that the live fastener exerts on the housing and the retaining edge of the carrier plate holds the housing on the carrier plate.
- the fastening part is preferably bent from a resilient material in a U-shape. After the fastening part has been inserted between the housing wall and the holding edge of the carrier plate, one U-leg rests against the holding edge and the second U-leg rests against the housing wall under spreading tension.
- the holding edge has a bevelled inner surface, so that it tapers upwards in a wedge shape.
- the free end of the first U-leg coming into contact with the holding edge is bent inwards in a wedge shape in a complementary manner to the wedge shape of the holding edge and the second U-leg facing the housing wall carries at its free end a wedge-shaped end of the first U- Leg protruding, hook-shaped part which can be brought into engagement through an opening in the carrier plate under the carrier plate.
- the insertion of the fastening part between the holding edge and the housing wall is facilitated, on the one hand, and on the other hand, together with the hook-shaped part under the housing, they ensure a secure fit of the fastening part in its end position and a good holding and high spreading effect, i.e. a secure mounting of the housing on the carrier plate.
- a thickening with a bevel can be formed in the end region of the second U-leg, this bevel then coming to rest on the bevelled surface of a step formed on the housing wall when the fastening part is inserted between the housing wall and the holding edge. This also contributes to a firm and secure fit of the fastening part in its end position.
- a horizontal support surface is preferably formed at the end of the wedge-shaped tapering edge, and a horizontal abutment surface is then also formed on the wedge-shaped inward end of the first U-leg, which can be brought to rest on the support surface of the support edge. This is helpful when inserting the fastening part between the holding edge and the housing wall.
- the fastening part is first brought into a position between the holding edge and the housing wall, in which the abutment surface of the first U-leg rests on the bearing surface of the holding edge and the hook-shaped part already protrudes through an opening provided in the carrier plate, but does not yet engage under the housing.
- the fastening part is then brought into its clamping end position, the wedge surface of the U-leg sliding on that of the holding edge and thus generating a movement component through which the hook-shaped part engages under the housing. This movement simultaneously causes tension in the U-shaped fastening part.
- the inner portion of the wedge-shaped end of the first U-leg preferably runs vertically.
- a locking lug 17 is provided, which comes into engagement with a sawtooth arranged on the second, opposite U-leg of the fastening part in the end position of the fastening part. An unintentional loosening of the fastening part from its clamping end position can thus be prevented and the holder additionally secured.
- an angled, elastically spring-loaded tab is provided at the end of the inner, vertical section of the wedge-shaped bent end of the first U-leg, with which this vertical section can be moved in such a way that its latching lug from engagement with the sawtooth on the second U- Leg is released and the first U-leg, by releasing the tension of the U-shaped fastening part, returns to the intermediate position in which its abutting surface rests on the contact surface of the holding edge.
- the hook-shaped part also comes loose from the Engagement under the housing, and the fastener can be easily pulled out and used again.
- the end of the second U-leg can be stiffened by an internal, elongated eyelet and the hook-shaped part can then be attached to this eyelet.
- the hook-shaped part is preferably double-walled and divided into compartments inside by partitions. This makes it more dimensionally stable and mechanically resilient, and its effect is improved.
- Fig. 4 shows the fastening part in side view on a scale of 1: 1.
- Fig. 1 part of the housing 1 of a motor vehicle battery is schematically shown, which, as is known per se, has a step 2 laterally above its bottom, which is preferably designed to be slightly sloping. It stands on a carrier plate 3 which projects beyond the housing 1 on this side and is shown in section in the drawing.
- the carrier plate 3 has a vertically upstanding holding edge 4, which is preferably formed in one piece on the carrier plate 3, but can also be otherwise firmly connected to it.
- the holding edge 4 holds a fixed distance on this side from the battery placed on the carrier plate 3.
- the inner surface 5 of the holding edge 4 facing the battery is chamfered, so that the holding edge 4 tapers in section, as shown, towards a horizontal support surface 6 formed on its free edge.
- an opening 7 which extends in the illustrated sectional view between the holding edge 4 and the housing wall, is provided in the carrier plate 4 and is dimensioned such that a fastening part 10, which is described in more detail below, hook-shaped part 27 fits through.
- a fastening part 10 which is described in more detail below, hook-shaped part 27 fits through.
- the fastening part 10 consists (see FIG. 4) first of all of a U-shaped material strip made of a resilient material.
- the one (first) U-leg 11 is at its end complementary to the wedge shape of the retaining edge 4 and bent inwards and outwards, so that here a bevel 12 on the outside of the fastening part 10, a horizontal abutment surface 13 and one vertically in the U-bend 14 directed section 15 arise.
- an angled, elastically spring-loaded tab 16 is formed, which at the upper end of the straight extension of the vertical section 15 has a locking lug 17 facing the opposite leg 18.
- the second U-leg 18 of the fastening part 10 is bent twice at right angles at its free end, so that an elongated, rectangular eyelet 19 is turned into the U-arm 14.
- the outer wall of the eyelet 19 merges at its end with a bevel 20 into a slight thickening 21, from which a bevel 22 merges into the horizontal narrow side 23 of the eyelet 19.
- the narrow side of the eyelet 19 facing the U-bend 14 of the fastening member 10 becomes completed by a crosspiece 24, from which extends at right angles and at a distance from the eyelet 19 a wall 25, the outer surface of which is provided with a vertical sawtooth 26 which corresponds to the vertical section
- this hook 27 has a double-walled hollow design and is divided into chambers 28 by internal dividing walls for stiffening. In the side view shown, there are three chambers 28 which are in the are arranged at right angles. With the narrow side 23 of the eyelet 19, the outer wall of one chamber 28 is firmly connected.
- the example of a motor vehicle battery shows how this is to be fixed on a carrier plate 3 with the aid of the fastening part 10.
- the battery housing 1 and the carrier plate 3 are only shown as a cut in such a way that the side can be seen where the fastening part 10 is used.
- the fastening part 10 is shown in a completely relaxed state at the beginning of the fixing process, the battery housing 1 having already been set up on the carrier plate 3 in such a way that, together with its step 2 on the side shown, it leaves the opening 7 in the carrier plate 3 free and maintains a distance from the holding edge 4, which just allows the hook-shaped part 27 formed on the fastening part 10 to slide past when it is to be passed through the opening 7, as shown in FIG. 2.
- the fastening part 10 is thus brought into a position in which its second U-leg 18 and the hook 27 fastened thereon face the battery housing 1.
- the hook 27 is placed between the battery housing 1 and the holding edge 4 of the carrier plate 3 and the fastening part 10 is lowered in a still relaxed state until the abutment surface 13 formed on the wedge-shaped bent end of the first U-leg 11 on the contact surface 6 of the holding edge 4 regurgitates.
- the fastening part 10 can be tensioned by moving the second U-leg 18 further down until its hook 27 projects through the opening 7 of the carrier plate 3 into the space 9. Subsequently, the fastening part 10 is moved as a whole towards the battery housing 1 in such a way that the hook 27 engages under the carrier plate 3, the bevel 22 formed on the thickening 21 of the second U-leg 18 rests on the beveled step 2 of the battery housing 1 and the first U-leg 11 slides with its abutment surface 13 from the support surface 6 of the holding edge 4.
- the first U-leg 11, the fastening part 10, can be pushed further downwards become; its wedge-shaped bent end can slide with its outer bevel 12 downwards along the complementary beveled inner surface 5 of the holding edge 4 until a clamping effect between the housing 1 and the holding edge 4 arises on the fastening member 10.
- the locking lug 17 on the vertical section 15 of the bent end of the first U-leg 11 also comes into engagement with the internal serration 26 on the second U-leg 18, so that the fastening part 10 is locked in this tensioned and clamping position and is not locked can solve automatically.
- the clamping effect is effectively promoted by the double-walled design of the hook-shaped part 27 divided into chambers 28 together with the resiliently bent end of the first U-leg 11.
- the housing 1 can thus be fastened very quickly and very securely to the carrier plate 3 with the aid of the fastening part 10 with a few simple steps and without the aid of a tool. If the housing 1 is to be removed, for example when replacing a motor vehicle battery, it can be detached from the clamp holder in an equally simple manner. For this purpose, the tab 16, which is angled at the inwardly bent end of the first U-leg 11, is moved in such a way that the locking lug 17 is released from the engagement with the sawtooth 26 on the second U-leg 18.
- the tension of the U-shaped fastening part 10 can also be released and the first U-leg 11 can be moved upwards, the bevel 12 of its wedge-shaped curved end sliding again along the complementary inner surface 5 of the holding edge 4, so that the clamping effect of the Fastening part 10 is lifted and the fastening part 10 and then the housing 1 can be removed.
