Description

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a packaging from a blank of cardboard or similar material. She also concerns the blank of cardboard or similar material for placing implementation of the process and the packaging obtained by the volume of this blank; it also relates to a process for packaging product (s) to means of the blank in question.

The packaging or closing of the packaging produced from a single blank of cardboard or similar material is very often carried out by means of flaps, flaps or assembly tabs which are arranged in the extension of the portions of material which ensures the actual packaging.
However, these extension elements increase the blank surface necessary for producing the packaging and they therefore increase its cost price.

To save material, it is possible to delete these extension elements and provide for assembly structures complementary, such as a strapping by means of a strap, or such as a overwrapping with plastic film; but these structures complementary require the implementation of technical means which are also fairly high cost and which are not always easy to use.

Still with a view to saving material, document GB-A-1 462 843 describes a container-shaped packaging consisting of a bottom bordered by two opposing side walls, the sides of which are connected by pieces of sampled material. in said side walls.
However, mounting this packaging is not easy to perform. In particular, the operations of joining the walls in opposition by elements removed and brought back on either side can hardly be mechanized; the corresponding manual interventions limit the rates and generate a significant cost of labor.
In addition, this packaging has no product covering element, which limits its applications.

The present invention provides a new technique for manufacture a packaging comprising a covering element for products, which is both simple to implement and which allows particular to limit, or even to remove the extensions assembly of the base cardboard blank, without imposing the presence of complementary assembly structures such as strips or films overwrapping plastics known in the state of the art.

The method of manufacturing packaging (s) according to the present invention consists in removing at least one piece of material from the base blank, then, after volume setting of said blank, using said piece of material to assemble the upper edges of two side walls of said packaging and thus form a cover for covering the packaged products.
The piece of material removed is used to maintain the volume, to complete the volume maintenance means and / or to close the packaging.

The invention also relates to the cardboard blank for the implementation of this method and the cardboard packaging obtained by the volume of this blank by means of the aforementioned technique.
According to a particular embodiment, this packaging comprises at least one piece of material which is taken from the cardboard blank and which is used to assemble the upper edges of two of the side walls. The packaging preferably comprises a bottom from which extend at least two opposing side walls; it also comprises at least one piece of material ensuring the assembly of said opposing walls, which piece of material is cut at least partially in the bottom and / or in at least one of said side walls.

Preferably, this assembly part is completely cut out. in the bottom and / or in at least one of the side walls and it has a cover flap which is extended laterally by two end tabs which come to join with said walls side.

According to a second embodiment, the part assembly is partially cut from the base blank and it remains adjacent to one of the side walls. This assembly piece has a cover flap which is extended by a tab end coming to join with the other side wall.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the packaging comprises an assembly part whose covering flap is taken from the entire length of the bottom and the end tab (s) of which are taken from one or both side walls, as the case may be.

Still according to the invention, the packaging comprises a part assembly including the cover flap and the leg (s) ends are positioned in correspondence of the cutouts of sampling from the bottom and from the side wall (s). This particularity makes it possible to form wedging members which stabilize the stacks.

Still according to the invention, the packaging consists of a square bottom or rectangular with two opposing sides extending by two first side walls provided with side flaps and interconnected by the assembly part. The other two sides of the bottom extend by flaps which are intended to form the other two side walls, or portions of side walls, which are secured to the Aforementioned side flaps which extend said first side walls.

The invention also relates to a method for packaging product (s) using the cardboard blank, which process consists, after removal of the piece of material, to volume said blank on the products which one wishes to condition, or else to volume said blank then introduce the products into the upper opening of the packaging thus formed, before assembling the upper edges of two walls side by means of the piece of material removed, to complete the partitioning of the product (s).

  • la figure 1 est une vue à plat d'un flan de carton permettant la réalisation d'un emballage conforme à la présente invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue en perspective qui montre l'emballage mis en volume à partir du flan de la figure 1 ;
  • la figure 3 est une vue à plat d'un flan de carton permettant la réalisation d'un autre emballage conforme à la présente invention ;
However, the invention will be further illustrated, without being in any way limited, by the following description of two particular embodiments, given solely by way of examples and represented in the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a flat view of a cardboard blank for making a package according to the present invention;
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the packaging set in volume from the blank of Figure 1;
  • Figure 3 is a flat view of a cardboard blank for making another package according to the present invention;
  • Figure 4 is a perspective view showing the package obtained from the blank of Figure 3, during assembly.

The blank 1 shown flat in FIG. 1 comprises a rectangular bottom 2 bordered by two end walls 3 and 4 connected respectively by the fold lines 5 and 6. The two walls 3 and 4 have the same height a and the same width b .

These flaps 8 extend over the entire length of the bottom 2 and their height c is less than the height a of the end walls 3 and 4.

These flaps 10 extend over the entire height has walls 3 and 4; their width d corresponds to the height c of the extensions 8.

The bottom 2 and the end walls 3, 4 are placed on the axis longitudinal 12 of the blank 1; the latter is cut from a plate of corrugated cardboard, the grooves of which, identified in 13, are oriented in the direction of the longitudinal axis 12.

In the central part of the blank 1, we note the presence of a piece of material 14 in the form of a strip which is delimited, laterally, by a cutting line 15 and by a precut line 16 parallel to each other and, at the level of its ends, by precut lines 17, 18 also parallel to each other.
The cutting line 15 and the precut lines 16, 17, 18 are adapted to allow complete detachment of the strip of material 14 from the cardboard blank 1.

This strip 14 of constant width extends over the entire length from the bottom 2 and over part of the end walls 3 and 4. It is divided in three sections: a central part 20 extended at each of its ends by lugs 21 connected by fold lines 22. The fold lines 22 are practically positioned on the fold lines 5 and 6 which connect the bottom 2 and the end walls 3, 4; they are in fact slightly offset externally with respect to said lines 5 and 6, by a distance which corresponds to the thickness of the cardboard used.

The central part 20 of the piece of material 14 is disposed slightly at an angle to the longitudinal axis 12 of the blank 1 but this piece of material 14 remains symmetrical with respect to said axis longitudinal 12. According to a neighboring embodiment, the strip 14 may be straight and extend parallel to the longitudinal axis 12, preferably centered on the latter.

As shown in Figure 2, the volume of the cardboard blank is made after removal of the strip of material 14, vertically erecting the end walls 3 and 4 and securing the side flaps 10 with the extension flaps 8 This joining is carried out by gluing or stapling the lower ends of the flaps 10 with the external face or with the internal face of the ends of the extensions 8.
The packaging of the volume can be carried out on the products which it is desired to condition, for example a group of 5 boxes or cases 24, after having positioned the latter on the bottom 2; another possibility consists, after having put the packaging in volume, to introduce the product (s) through the upper opening. The extension flaps 8 and the flaps 10 laterally hold the packaged product or products.

The strip of material 14 taken from the cardboard blank 1 is used to close the upper opening of the packaging. This partial closure is obtained by placing the strip 14 on the products 24 and by joining its end tabs 21 by gluing, stapling or the like, with the external face end walls 3 and 4. The strip 14, and in particular its part central 20, defines a kind of cap or partial cover which allows to join the upper edges of walls 3 and 4 and which allows complete the partitioning of products. The fold lines 22 which connect the central part 20 and the end tabs 21 are adapted to come position themselves on the upper edges of walls 3 and 4.

Preferably, the strip 20 and the end tabs 21 are placed in correspondence with the sample cutout 25 arranged in the bottom 2 and in the lower part of the end walls 3, 4. The piece of material 14 extends in thickness above the edge upper of the packaging and the cutout 25 defines a slight recess. When the packages are stacked, the assembly part 14 of the bottom packaging enters the cutout 25 of the packaging located just above and this ensures a certain leveling which stabilizes the stacks.

We obtain a parallelepipedic packaging which ensures correct packaging of products and which, due to the simplicity of its production blank, has a very attractive cost price. In addition, the upper strip 20 can serve as a handle for packaging; we can also use it to receive any marking, for example advertising.

FIG. 3 shows another type of blank which makes it possible to obtain a similar packaging illustrated in FIG. 4.
This cardboard blank 26 has a rectangular bottom 27 which is bordered by two end walls 28, 29 connected by the fold lines 30, 31, and by two extension flaps 32 connected by the fold lines 33.
The end walls 28 and 29 have side flaps 34 which are intended to be assembled with the extensions 32 to maintain the packaging in volume.

The blank 26 also includes a shaped assembly piece strip 35 which extends over the length of the bottom 27 and partially over the two end walls 28 and 29. The joining strip 35 extends over the longitudinal axis 36 of the blank 26. It adjoins the blank 26 by a line connection 37 located on the end wall 29. Furthermore, it is delimited by a cutting or precut line 38, in general shape from U.

Elle s'étend sensiblement à mi-hauteur de ladite paroi 29, entre la ligne de pliage 31 et la bordure supérieure 39.The connection line 37 is parallel to the fold line 31 and at the upper edge 39 of the wall 29. It extends substantially at mid-height of said wall 29, between the fold line 31 and the border upper 39.

The assembly strip 35 thus comprises a central flap 40 taken from the bottom 27, a first end tab 41 taken from the wall 29 and a second end tab 42 taken from the wall 28.

The packaging of the volume takes place by securing the extensions 32 with the side flaps 34, for example by gluing. As shown in Figure 4, the assembly strip 35 is released from the bottom 27; it is turned over from the outside and it is positioned on the upper part of the packaging to connect the two end walls 28 and 29. The tab 41 remains attached to the wall 29 by the connection line 37. The maintenance final volume setting, or closing, is carried out after packaging of the products, by joining the end tab 42 with the wall 28.
In this embodiment, the fold line 43 which connects the central flap 40 of the assembly strip 35 with the end tab 41, is positioned on the upper edge 39 of the end wall 29; on the other side, the fold line 44 which connects the central flap 40 and the end tab 42 is positioned on the upper edge of the end wall 28. These fold lines 43 and 44 are positioned accordingly on the blank 26.

To facilitate turning and positioning of the strip partially cut assembly 35, a line of folding on the connection line 37.

In this embodiment, also, the assembly strip 35 protrudes slightly above the upper edges of the packaging and it constitutes a wedging element, in association with its cutout 45 fitted in the bottom, which stabilizes the stacks.
