- the glove is out made of a tear-resistant upper material, which on the Glove surfaces a water-impermeable coating 19 can have. The coating has a rough Surface to make the glove easier to grip.
- the loop 13 can also only at one point on Glove 11, e.g. on the side of the glove's side cheek be attached to the index finger (not shown). Becomes a elastic band 15 used, so the freedom of movement of the thumb can be increased a little. It is also conceivable to have a ribbon to be provided, which is sewn onto the glove only at one end and is placed around the thumb if a thumb joint protection is desired. For this purpose, the tape can be on the loose end have a Velcro fastener. Such Embodiment has the advantage that the freedom of movement of the Thumb can be adjusted individually.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a glove Thumb joint protection.
US 4,295,229 relates to a football glove with a Joint and hand protection for offensive or defensive "linemen". The joint and hand protection consist of one each Pad. While the joint pad extends from hand to hand Extends wrist, the hand pad extends over the Back of the hand up to the metacarpophalang finger joints. To the Finger pads are hanging finger loops from one provided elastic material. These elastic loops should not only accommodate fingers of different sizes can, but at the same time bending and using allow the finger. There is a thumb pad for the thumb provided on which also an elastic thumb loop is arranged. To prevent excessive stretching in the to prevent elastic finger straps from sticking fingers are boundary bands made of an inelastic material provided which is placed around the finger loops and on these are sewn on. The elastic thumb loop is from one Surrounding thumb pad arranged border band. Is further the border band and the thumb pad over the top and bottom Leather parts connected to the finger pad to make an all too to prevent large thumb deflection.
The glove described is especially for football designed. Regarding the proposed thumb protection disadvantage that the thumb pad permanently with the Finger pad is connected and that the The thumb's freedom of movement is permanently restricted.
The reinforcing element has essentially the shape of a compressed circular Band, one extremity of which is extended with a groove. The groove is intended for the thumb. The Reinforcing element is preferably in a glove integrated. A disadvantage of the thumb protection described is that the reinforcement element integrated in a glove The thumb's freedom of movement is permanently restricted. Moreover the glove wearer should then use the reinforcing element if no sport is perceived as disturbing. It is therefore also intended to use a thumb guard that is not in the Glove is integrated, but with different gloves can be used. But if the thumb protection is not in integrated into a glove is putting on Thumb protection and glove quite cumbersome and time consuming and there is a risk of thumb protection get lost.
The lower area of the case is fixed to the Glove connected so that the radial movement of the thumb is limited. In another embodiment, are on one Thumb pocket and on the finger area of the glove Oesen provided by which a cord is pulled and then can be attached. A disadvantage of the latter solution is that the glove cannot be put on alone because the cord cannot be tied with one hand.
Patent 3,100,302 discloses a golf glove in which is the tape of receiving the golf club and not the Serves thumb. This is shown for recording the thumb Band not suitable. So it is a golf glove U.S. Patent 3,100,302 to a non-generic glove.
Patent 2,380,633 describes a glove which is known as Mitten and can be used as a glove without the User should pull the hand out of the glove. To this The glove designed as a mittens has one purpose separate index finger pocket in which the index finger to Can perform certain activities. Will the Index finger not needed, so you stow it away Index finger pocket under a restraint band. From the US 2,380,633 no suggestions can be found, the volume for Prevention of thumb injuries. The tape in US Patent 2,380,633 serves the empty index finger pocket to stow away.
French document FR-A-2 543 801 discloses i.a. in the Figures 4 and 5 a glove in which to avoid Thumb injuries a band is wrapped around the glove. The band around the metacarpal thumb joint prevents any Movement of the thumb outwards and can thus prevent the joint protect from overstretching or breaking.
The German utility model DE-U-93 03 144.0 discloses one Ski glove especially for skiers. On this thumb Ski glove is the one end of an approximately 8 cm long Velcro sewn on. The other end of the Velcro can be with a counterpart, which is sewn on the back of the index finger is to work together. If you hold the ski stick in your hand, the thumb is attached to the ski stick using the Velcro tape connected around with the index finger. Disadvantage of this Solution is that without putting on the tape on both hands outside help is extremely difficult. Another disadvantage is that the Velcro fastener that can be opened repeatedly in the Winter can freeze through snow and then no longer last.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a glove To provide, which according to the needs of the User effective protection against Thumb luxation and on the other hand a normal, unrestricted Allows movement of the thumb. In particular, the Glove wearers have a choice of whether to use the thumb joint protection want to use or waive it. Also the Glove wearer the thumb protection itself and as quickly as possible can drop.
Such joint protection is particularly for sports enthusiasts, such as Skiers or snowboarders thought that especially when falling often cause joint dislocations in the thumb root area. Of the However, thumb joint protection according to the invention has for the user Another great advantage is that it can be activated at any time or can deactivate without the glove would have to take off. There is also no risk that the Joint protection could be lost as this is on the glove is integrated. To make the joint protection effective, the thumb just needs to be put in the loop. The glove also has the surprising and especially of Snowboarders highly valued advantage that the in the Loop thumbs still sitting a certain amount Has freedom of movement so that gripping movements with the hand executed and items such as sunglasses, handkerchiefs or even small sports equipment can be held. Will still If more freedom of movement is desired, the user of the Gloves - in contrast to the ones mentioned at the beginning Thumb Joint Protectors - the thumb with ease from the Pull the loop.
The loop is advantageous due to a non-stretchable band, e.g. a nylon tape. But it can also be an elastic band be provided. Such a band increases the wearing comfort. The Loop should be sized so that the angle between your thumb and the index finger cannot exceed approximately 60 °. The Attachment of the loop on the side approximately on the Index finger attachment and on the other hand on the inside of the glove approximately in the area of the ring finger has the advantage that the Thumb practically parallel to the other fingers is aligned. In addition, it can be relatively close to the pointing and Middle finger should be arranged. An injury to the This makes the thumb root area practical in the event of a fall impossible. Is advantageous in the area of attachment Loop on the glove a reinforcement zone, e.g. of leather, intended. This can prevent the loop from becoming loose can tear away from the glove. An expedient embodiment provides that one end of the loop on the glove is undetachable and the other end e.g. releasably attached by a Velcro fastener is. This allows the freedom of movement of the thumb individually set without the help of other people. If the thumb protection is not required, the tape can e.g. with a Velcro fastener, i.e. without Loop formation to be put on the glove. Of the Glove with thumb joint protection is then a "common" Glove, and the deactivated thumb joint protection practically imperceptible.
- Fig.1
- Fig.2
- Fig. 1
- a bottom perspective view of an inventive glove with thumb joint protection, the thumb is not looped, and
- Fig. 2
- a perspective side view of the glove of Fig. 1 with the thumb looped.
The
The
The
