Definitions
- the invention relates to a training target Z, which is heated by means of a gaseous medium generated by an external source via pipelines, the target having a channel running inside the target and laterally delimited by guide rails into which the gaseous medium is directed, a plate-shaped rear wall 1 and has a front wall 3, both of which are made of plastic, the front wall 3 being fastened to the rear wall 1, having a plurality of elements 4, approximately parallel and vertically arranged, projecting into the interior 2 between the rear wall 1 and the firing-side front wall 3, and one in the region of the lower edge of the rear wall 1 or front wall 3 arranged, approximately horizontal pipe 6, which is connected to the source 7 of the gaseous medium.
- Target acquisition, target selection and target addressing as well as the operation of the weapon system should be practiced under realistic conditions.
- FR-A-2 544 067 which is to be regarded as the closest prior art; describes different ways to create a training target.
- it is proposed to make the rear wall from a wooden plate or a rigid metallic plate and to cover it with a fabric or a plastic film as the front wall; on the other hand, it is given as a possible implementation to produce the target structure from foils and to use two posts at the edge of the target to close them
- the first embodiment is suitable for use resistant materials not for bombardment with guided missiles or shaped charge projectiles, because their focused detonators would trigger when they hit and the target would thus be destroyed on the first hit.
- Wood is also used as a consumable.
- the second embodiment with the fabric or the foils has the disadvantage of mechanical instability under certain weather conditions, from which both the target display and the handling during target assembly suffer.
- the target will still be recognizable after just a few hits with 120 mm bullets, because in the event of night use, too much heated air will escape through the torn fabric / film material.
- US-A-3 516 670 relates to a practice target for small caliber ammunition.
- the target is made of polyethylene and has a waffle-like structure made of vertical and horizontal elevations and depressions for stiffening.
- This embodiment is particularly suitable for small-caliber ammunition because the bullet holes can be reduced by means of heat treatment to such an extent that multiple use of the target becomes possible.
- no reference is made to the use on large-caliber projectiles and the possibility of reprocessing destroyed targets.
- the rear wall of the target is made of a shell made of a deep-drawable and recyclable plastic such as polyethylene (PE), into which ribs or corrugations running vertically are embossed by means of deep-drawing and which have a transverse flow at least at one point in their overall length of the heating gas and that the pipe connected to the source of the gaseous medium has at least one blow-out opening for each space between the ribs / beads, this pipe being easily detachably fastened.
- PE polyethylene
- the particular advantages of the invention are the fact that the exercise target is easy to transport and set up due to its low weight. Due to the special shape, a high stack density is achieved.
- the plastic material used can be melted again after the bombardment and processed to a new target. Splinters and remnants rot in nature independently under the influence of UV radiation.
- the target can be heated to the required elevated temperature within five seconds.
- the target can be recognized after 10 rounds with 120 mm rounds or 200 rounds with 20 mm rounds and has been proven by tests.
- the design according to the invention ensures uniform heating of the target surface guaranteed. Due to the materials used, the exercise goal is insensitive to weather influences. When using the exercise target as a day target, the tube that is used to distribute the heated gaseous medium in the target at night is simply pulled out. It can therefore no longer be destroyed by hits, which results in significant material savings.
- Fig. 1 shows schematically simplified the shot-side view of an embodiment of the target Z.
- the rear wall 1 designed as a deep-drawn shell is attached to a predetermined target frame 10 at a distance that should be at least one caliber of the projectiles used.
- the back wall consists of an approximately 1-3 mm thick plastic material, preferably polyethylene (PE).
- PE polyethylene
- a large number of vertical ribs or beads 4 are embossed by deep drawing, which protrude into the interior 2 formed from the rear wall 1 and the front wall 3 on the bombardment side. This achieves a high degree of inherent stability, so that the attachment to the target frame can be carried out in the manner of a clamping.
- the ribs / beads 4 are advantageously in contact with the front wall 3.
- the ribs / beads 4 extend from the tube 5, which is used to distribute the hot gaseous medium 11, to just below the upper edge of the rear wall 1, so that cross-connections 9 are created between the spaces created by the ribs / beads 4. With the help of the cross connections 9, the most uniform possible heat distribution is achieved over the entire target area. Thus, the appearance of the day or night target Z is largely retained even after several hits with large-caliber projectiles. Even damage to the edges of the cup-shaped rear wall does not destroy the target.
- the front wall 3 of the exercise target Z preferably consists of the same material as the rear wall 1. However, only film thickness is selected as the material thickness. This film is attached to the outer edge of the rear wall 1 by means of easily detachable fastening means. Thus, the target can be dismantled as a whole after being damaged by multiple hits and can be recycled. Due to the low material thickness of the front wall 3, good heat transfer is guaranteed.
- the coating of the front wall with reflection-free paint provides an improvement in the target image capable of thermal imaging.
- the heating is carried out by means of an external device 7, which is connected to the exercise target via a feed line 6.
- an external device 7 which is connected to the exercise target via a feed line 6.
- the hot gaseous medium 11 is placed in a pipe 5 at the feed point 12.
- the tube 5 consists for example of light metal and is easily detachably attached to the rear wall 1 so that it can be replaced quickly in the event of damage. When used as a day target, the tube 5 and the heating device are omitted, so that damage by hits or splinters is impossible.
- the tube 5 has a plurality of blow-out openings 8 toward the target interior 2. These openings vary in cross-section D according to the pressure conditions in the tube 5, so that regardless of the distance E to the feed point 6, the same amount of heated gas 11 flows into the different sub-areas of the interior 2, which are formed by the ribs / beads 4.
- the target shows sufficient mechanical stability in all weather conditions, the parts of the target can be easily stacked and transported. All target parts are reusable, manufacturing costs and reprocessing costs are low.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a training target Z, which is heated by means of a gaseous medium generated by an external source via pipelines, the target having a channel running inside the target and laterally delimited by guide rails into which the gaseous medium is directed, a plate-shaped
Such a target is required for shooting training with a sharp shot in daylight and at the same time poor visibility or at night. Target acquisition, target selection and target addressing as well as the operation of the weapon system should be practiced under realistic conditions.
On the one hand, it is proposed to make the rear wall from a wooden plate or a rigid metallic plate and to cover it with a fabric or a plastic film as the front wall; on the other hand, it is given as a possible implementation to produce the target structure from foils and to use two posts at the edge of the target to close them The first embodiment is suitable for use resistant materials not for bombardment with guided missiles or shaped charge projectiles, because their focused detonators would trigger when they hit and the target would thus be destroyed on the first hit. Wood is also used as a consumable. This should be avoided in the sense of a low environmental impact, because wood grows slowly as a natural product and a wooden target destroyed by hits can no longer be used in the recycling process to produce further targets. In addition, the heating of wooden panels is subject to a certain inertia, so that a realistic, fast appearance and disappearance of a target cannot be practiced.
The second embodiment with the fabric or the foils has the disadvantage of mechanical instability under certain weather conditions, from which both the target display and the handling during target assembly suffer. In addition, there is no guarantee that the target will still be recognizable after just a few hits with 120 mm bullets, because in the event of night use, too much heated air will escape through the torn fabric / film material.
The target is made of polyethylene and has a waffle-like structure made of vertical and horizontal elevations and depressions for stiffening. This embodiment is particularly suitable for small-caliber ammunition because the bullet holes can be reduced by means of heat treatment to such an extent that multiple use of the target becomes possible. However, no reference is made to the use on large-caliber projectiles and the possibility of reprocessing destroyed targets.
As a serious disadvantage of comparable goals, it has been found that the mounting frame for the target is approximately congruent with the border of the The goal itself is. When shooting with large-caliber projectiles, the edge or frame is often hit, so that the target becomes unusable due to a lack of inherent stability.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to design a practice target while avoiding the disadvantages of the prior art mentioned in such a way that handling with regard to storage, transport and installation is improved so that the target in the area in which the projectiles usually strike is exclusive consists of recyclable material and that a realistic target representation with regard to the time behavior and good visibility, in particular the flat heat distribution, is achieved even after several hits with large-caliber bullets.
The object is achieved in that the rear wall of the target is made of a shell made of a deep-drawable and recyclable plastic such as polyethylene (PE), into which ribs or corrugations running vertically are embossed by means of deep-drawing and which have a transverse flow at least at one point in their overall length of the heating gas and that the pipe connected to the source of the gaseous medium has at least one blow-out opening for each space between the ribs / beads, this pipe being easily detachably fastened. Further configurations are described in the subclaims.
The particular advantages of the invention are the fact that the exercise target is easy to transport and set up due to its low weight. Due to the special shape, a high stack density is achieved. The plastic material used can be melted again after the bombardment and processed to a new target. Splinters and remnants rot in nature independently under the influence of UV radiation. In practice, the target can be heated to the required elevated temperature within five seconds. The target can be recognized after 10 rounds with 120 mm rounds or 200 rounds with 20 mm rounds and has been proven by tests. The design according to the invention ensures uniform heating of the target surface guaranteed. Due to the materials used, the exercise goal is insensitive to weather influences. When using the exercise target as a day target, the tube that is used to distribute the heated gaseous medium in the target at night is simply pulled out. It can therefore no longer be destroyed by hits, which results in significant material savings.
- Fig. 1 eine beschußseitige Ansicht des Übungszieles
- Fig. 1 is a shot-side view of the target
- 2 shows a part of section AA 'through a target according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 1 shows schematically simplified the shot-side view of an embodiment of the target Z. The
The front wall 3 of the exercise target Z preferably consists of the same material as the
The heating is carried out by means of an
Practical testing has shown that the goal of the exercise is easy to use and that the goal is very realistic. The target shows sufficient mechanical stability in all weather conditions, the parts of the target can be easily stacked and transported. All target parts are reusable, manufacturing costs and reprocessing costs are low.
