Abstract
In order to satisfy high shielding requirements, the metallic shielding case (1) of a plug connector is formed in one piece and in a single envelope, and the plug or socket insertion part (6) is set back inwards, so that contact with a wall (8) of the device is made only by the front face (7) of the shielding case (1) located on the side of the connector, whereas the shielding (25) of the cable is directly in contact on the front side with a transverse wall (22) of the shielding box (1). This results in a plug connector with a minimum of transition points, so that surface currents can flow unhindered. The invention is useful in low frequency plug connectors, especially in shielding housings of subminiature plug connectors.
Description
Abgeschirmter Steckverbinder . Shielded connector.
The invention relates to a shielded, a metal screen housing having connector, connection side is connected at least one shielded cable to the plug side and a collar comprising a metal plug Direction • or female insert is provided. Such a plug connector is known from DE-GM 87 13 046.
The plug connector as the link between closed electronic systems and the periphery is subject to increasingly higher requirements with regard to electromagnetic compatibility. The development of electronic systems is characterized by an ever increasing processing speed, ie by higher clock frequencies in digital computing and control systems. This increases the sensitivity to high-frequency interference. These interferences can lead to malfunctions which have a direct effect on the quality of these systems. On the other hand, interference also comes from electronic systems or devices themselves, which work with steep-edged, high-frequency signals in the control and power sections. In order to reduce the mutual influence of electronic systems with one another or even to completely cancel them out, the: connector as an interface element between a closed electronic system and the environment is of decisive importance. The connector known from DE-GM 87 13 046 is provided for such purposes. This has a two-part housing, the individual housing parts on the inside covering shielding plates are provided for electrical shielding, which when the housing is assembled not directly, but are electrically connected by making contact with the metallic plug inserted into the housing and with a shield of a cable led into the housing. In this connector, the metal connector body with its collar is arranged on the outside of the connector on the connector-side end of the lower housing part. The connecting cable is mechanically connected to the lower housing part by means of a clamp and electrically to a shield plate arranged in the lower housing part.
In the case of other plug connectors on the market, the housing is composed of two half-shells, between which there may be small gaps which have a considerable influence on the shielding effect. Various shielding materials are used for such housings, such as solid cast aluminum half-shells, metal sheets inserted in plastic half-shells or metallized plastic half-shells. These half-shells are in each case electrically connected to the shielding braid of the cable and with the metal collar of the einge- 'built plug. The metal collar of the built-in connector is usually fixed above on the front of the housing. Accordingly, there are gaps in conventional connector pairs with a mating connector in the rear or front wall mounting and a connector in the housing of the connector, namely between mating connector and wall or connector and housing. With such plug connections, there are therefore many transition points, the flow path of the interference signals to be derived to ground being as follows: cable shield braid - housing wall - metal collar of the plug - metal collar of the mating plug - device wall (ground). Surface currents can be conducted into the interior of devices and / or interference can originate from the device itself. The invention has for its object to provide a connector of the type mentioned that meets increased shielding requirements of, for example,> 80 dB.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the following features: a) the shield housing is of one-piece and single-shell design, b) the contact point on the shield housing for the metal collar of the plug or socket insert is set back inwards relative to the front face of the shield housing, so that only Via the plug-side end face, the shield housing is contacted on a device wall, c) the shield housing is formed in the connection area of the cable with a transverse wall which is recessed inwards with respect to the connection end face and is provided with at least one bushing, d) between the cable shield and the transverse wall a direct forehead contact is made.
With such a connector, the number of transition points is reduced to a minimum. The metal housing of the connector is made in one piece and with one shell. The contact between the cable shield and the housing of the connector is made by a direct end contact, ie the cable shield is not only partially or via intermediate transitions as with screwed-on clamps, but all around and without intermediate transitions in direct contact with the shield housing. Furthermore, front-side contacting from the housing of the connector to a device wall is provided, so that an unimpeded flow of surface currents is ensured. These measures create a connector with few, gap-free electrical and mechanical transitions, so that the connector increased shielding requirements met. In addition, such a connector with a simple structure, easy to install and inexpensive to implement.
With such a connector, it is expedient if the support point for the metal collar of the plug or socket insert is set back so far that the plug or socket insert is largely inside the shield housing. As a result, the plug or socket insert is arranged largely mechanically and electrically protected within the shield housing.
Im Hinblick auf die Schirmungswirkung ist es vorteilhaft, wenn die Innenweite des Schirmgehäuses am steckerseitigen Ende so gewählt ist, daß bei einem an einer Gerätewand befestigtenWith regard to the shielding effect, it is advantageous if the inner width of the shield housing at the plug end is selected so that one is attached to a device wall
Plug connector of the plug or socket insert, whose mating connector on the device wall and the passage opening of the device wall are laterally surrounded by the plug-side housing edge. This encapsulates the plug or socket insert and mating connector as well as the recess in the device wall in an electrically shielded manner.
Zum Ausgleich von gegebenenfalls auftretenden, nicht völlig ebenen stirnseitigen Auflagen eines Gehäuserandes an einer Gerätewand und zur Schaffung einer maximalen Anzahl vonTo compensate for any occurring, not completely flat end faces of a housing edge on a device wall and to create a maximum number of
Contacting points in this area can be expedient if a contact plate is arranged between the plug-side end face of the dish housing and the device wall. Such a contact plate can e.g. consist of a feathered spring plate.
In the case of a plug connector according to the invention, the cable is expediently connected by means of a connector. Connection area of the shield housing screw-in union nut. Here, a frontal contact can be made produce the cable shield on the transverse wall of the shield housing in a simple manner by sliding a sleeve over the exposed cable shield, over which the cable shield is turned over on one side by 180 ° and on which the union nut engages on the other side.
If two screws are provided as fastening elements for fastening the shield housing to a device wall, which are displaceable in the direction of insertion but cannot be lost on the shield housing, the plug connector can only be inserted freely after connecting to the mating connector and without being influenced by the fastening process manufactured connector are then locked by means of the fasteners.
Further advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of claim 1 are specified in the remaining subclaims.

The connector has a metal shield housing 1 made of a one-piece and one-shell die-cast part, in particular made of aluminum. The shield housing 1 is funnel-shaped with a further plug-side area 2 and, on the other hand, a narrower connection area 3 formed by a gradation. In this connection area at least one shielded cable 4 is connected in a manner described in more detail later. In the area 2 on the plug side, a plug or socket insert 6 having a metal collar 5 is provided, which is connected to the cable 4.
Deshalb kann dann ausschließlich über die steckerseitigeThe contact point 17 on the shield housing 1 for the metal collar 5 of the plug or socket insert 6 is set back inwards in relation to the plug end 7 of the shield housing to such an extent that the plug or socket insert 6 is largely inside the shield housing. Therefore, you can only use the connector side
End face 7 of the shield housing, an end-side contacting of the shield housing takes place on a device wall 8. The support point 17 on the shield housing for the metal collar 5 of the plug or socket insert 6 is expediently formed by two mutually opposite steps on the inner walls of the shield housing.
Two screws 9 are provided as fastening elements for the detachable fastening of the shield housing 1 to the device wall 8 and can be displaced in the plugging direction, but cannot be arranged on the shield housing. The screws 9 are formed in the longitudinal direction with four different zones. These zones are, for example, a slotted screw head 10 for screwing on, a cylindrical neck zone 11, an external thread 12 whose diameter is larger than that of the neck zone, and also a small external thread 13 for screwing into threaded sleeve 14 on the device wall 8, the external thread 13 being off ¬ recesses 15 of the metal collar 5 of the plug or socket insert 6 fits. The screws 9 are accommodated in the shield housing here in such a way that a sufficiently large space for the passage of the screws 9 is provided to the side of the plug or socket insert 6, that is to say between the latter and the inside of the shield housing 1.
The plug or socket insert 6 is fixed laterally in the plug direction by means of two diagonally opposite screws 16 which are screwed radially between the support point 17 and the plug-side end face 7 of the shield housing into its wall and a floating, enable self-searching storage of the plug or socket insert to the mating connector 18 arranged on the device wall 8.
In the state of the plug connector shown in FIG. 2 and fastened to the device wall 8, plug or socket insert 6 and mating plug 18 are plugged together and electrically connected. , The plug-side end face 7 of the 'screen housing 1 makes contact with the end face of the Geräte¬ wall 8 wherein the inner width of the screen housing 1 is selected on the stecker¬ side end such that the plug or Buchsen¬ insert 6, the mating connector 18 on the apparatus wall 8 and the passage opening 19 of the device wall are laterally surrounded by the plug-side housing edge. In this way, the connector is completely encapsulated for electromagnetic fields.
Der Anschluß des Kabels 4 erfolgt nun in folgender Weise:In order to improve the contact between the shield housing 1 and the device wall 8, in particular if the support is not completely level or if the device wall is susceptible or susceptible to corrosion, an additional contact plate 20 can be arranged between the plug-side end face 7 of the shield housing 1 and the device wall 8, with corresponding contact plates 20 Cutouts is provided for example for the implementation of fasteners. Cable 4 is now connected as follows:
After the plug or socket insert 6 - as in Fig.l - is mounted in the shield housing, the cable 4 is pushed back in a passage 21 of a transverse wall 22, which is provided in the connection area 3 of the shield housing 1 transversely to the plugging direction and opposite the connection-side end face 23 is reset inwards that a connection bore 24 is formed. A direct end contact is made between the cable shield 25 and the transverse wall 22 of the shield housing 1 with the aid of a union nut 27 which is pushed over the cable sheath 6 and consists of conductive material, for which purpose a sleeve 28, the inside diameter of which is approximately the outside diameter of the cable 4, is exposed via the exposed cable shield 25 corresponds to the cable sheath 26, is pushed, and over which the cable shield 25 is turned over on one side by 180 ° and on which the union nut 27 engages on the other side. By tightening the union nut, the e.g. consisting of a wire mesh cable shield 25 pressed on the end face of the transverse wall 22 and thus electrically contacted.
Die Überwurfmutter 27 ist anschließend an den Gewindebereich 29 mit einem am Kabelmantel 26 anliegenden Hals 3C ausgebildet, der mit einer fensterförmigen Öffnung 31 ver- sehen ist, in welche zur Zugentlastung des Kabels 4 einThe union nut 27 is then formed on the threaded region 29 with a neck 3C which bears against the cable sheath 26 and which is provided with a window-shaped opening 31 into which the cable 4 is relieved of strain
Kabelbinder 32 eingesetzt und am Kabelmantel 26 festgelegt ist (Fig.3).Cable tie 32 is inserted and fixed to the cable sheath 26 (Fig.3).
In an embodiment variant according to FIG. 1, an additional hose 33 is pushed out of a braided shield over the neck 30s of the union nut 27a and is fixedly connected and contacted with the neck 30a by means of a clamping ring 34. This variant can be used to further improve the shielding effect. The inside of the shield housing 1 is designed so that you can install filtered connectors. Thus, possibly induced in the cable Interference signals are also diverted to ground via the filter connector.
As a precaution against an incorrectly pluggable combination, coding can also be integrated in the connector. For this purpose, both the plug or socket insert 6 and the mating connector 18 are provided with a retrofittable coding element 35 or 35a (FIG. 5) in the form of a coding comb, wherein a coding hole of a coding element created by a broken-out coding tooth is opposite one Coding tooth of the counter element comes to lie in order to enable a correct pairing.
