  • the register rolls are driven by separate motors which are electronically timed with respect to one another to ensure that the flute alignment occurs between the two webs. This timing is achieved with the aid of flute count encoders 35 and 36. Similar encoders are mounted adjacent to the exposed portion of the middle roll of each single-facer machine; Figure 1 shows such an encoder 37 adjacent to the corrugator roll 5 of the lower single-facer 3.

Abstract

Procédé de fabrication de carton ondulé comprenant deux couches de papier ondulé jointes par alignement des sommets des ondulations des deux couches de papier, sans couche intermédiaire, et avec au moins une couche externe. Ledit procédé consiste à introduire des bandes de carton à onduler entre des paires respectives de rouleaux à onduler de manière à transformer lesdites bandes en carton ondulé, à appliquer de la colle sur les sommets des ondulations de l'une des bandes de carton ondulé, afin de permettre l'adhésion avec les sommets de l'autre bande de carton ondulé, et à faire passer les deux bandes de carton ondulé le long de voies linéaires adjacentes avec alignement sommet à sommet des ondulations des deux bandes de carton, tout en exerçant une pression qui place les bandes en contact l'une avec l'autre tandis que l'on permet ou active le séchage au moins partiel de la colle. Au moins une couche extérieure est appliquée soit avant, soit après le passage des bandes de carton ondulé le long des voies linéaires où les sommets de leurs ondulations sont fixés les uns aux autres.
