- the functionality comprises two essential criteria, namely the tightness, the most important task of each closure and the snap effect, the characteristic of a snap closure. Every snap hinge closure achieves the required tightness today, but the snap action is very different with the different closures. This is understandable if you know how complex the interaction of the different Forces and how this is influenced by the geometry of the closure and its hinge. The force for producing the snap action is always also caused by the elasticity of the bending.
