Da die Behinderten von der Seite her auf die Sitzplatte gelangen und diese auch zur Seite hin verlassen, sind die Seitenplatten mindestens in die Ebene der Rückenlehne, vorzugsweise aber nach hinten bis an die Rückseite der Rückenlehne zurückschwenkbar. In dieser Stellung kann der Behinderte auch vom Personal gewaschen werden, ohne daß die Seitenplatten stören. Die schwenkbare Lagerung der Rückenlehne selbst gestattet es, dem Behinderten eine für ihn geeignete Schräglage zu suchen, in der er auch unbeaufsichtigt lagestabil baden kann. Claims (2)

1. Bath-tub insert (10) for the handicapped, with a base mount or plate (13) of a guide means (14) which is arranged thereon and has at least one scissor-type frame pair, with a sitting or lying plate (16) supported by the guide means (14), with a lifting means (12) arranged between the base mount or plate (13) and the sitting or lying plate (16) and having a hose closed at its ends and fillable with water, with a control means (15) for filling and emptying the lifting means (12) and with a plate-shaped backrest (18) movably arranged on the sitting or lying plate (16), characterized in that the backrest (18) is articulatedly connected to the sitting or lying plate (16) and/or a respective side plate (22) is articulatedly connected to the backrest (18), in each case by means of two identical latching hinges (24), and each latching hinge (24) has two hinge plates (28) secured to respectively mutually articulatedly connected plates (16, 18; 18, 22) and constructed in each case in one piece with a sleeve (30), in that a hinge pin (32) is held axially unmovably in at least one direction in a first sleeve (30), passes relatively displaceably through the second sleeve (30) and has at its end a stop (60) on which there is supported a helical pressure spring (44) surrounding the hinge pin (32), the other end of which helical pressure spring (44) is supported on the second sleeve (30), in that at least one of the sleeves (30) is mounted pivotally relatively to the hinge pin (32) about the axis thereof, in that one of the sleeves (30) has an axially projecting collar (50) with axial ribs (52) provided on the periphery and the other has a cutout (54), complementary thereto, with axial grooves (56) provided on the periphery, in that the collar (50) is pre-tensioned by the helical pressure spring (44) in the direction of the latching position of the latching hinge (24) in which it penetrates with form fit into the cutout (54), and in that the two latching hinges (24), as a result of a relative movement stroke in the direction of the hinge pin of the in each case two mutually articulatedly connected plates (16, 18; 18, 22), at the same time reach a released position in which the two plates (16, 18; 18, 22) are relatively pivotal about the hinge pins (32).
