Zum ei­nen muß das Standrohr oder der daran befestigte Behälter, in den die Hülle eingezogen wird, nach oben offen sein, wodurch neben Niederschlägen auch Ungeziefer oder fallende Blätter in den Behälter gelangen können und zusammen mit der vorhandenen Feuchtigkeit sehr rasch verrotten, wobei die Hülle unansehn­lich und schwergängig wird. In der kalten Jahreszeit besteht wiederum die Gefahr der Eisbildung der im Behälter befind­lichen Feuchtigkeit. Zum anderen muß das für die Hülle verwen­dete Gewebe sehr dünn und flexibel sein, um sich in die zur Verfügung stehende Behältergröße zusammenfalten zu lassen, wo­durch die Hülle extrem anfällig gegen Beschädigungen wird. So­gar wenn der Einlauf in das zur Aufnahme dienende Rohr anfäng­lich genau angepaßt ist, ist durch die dauernde Reibung des Gewebes zusammen mit der unvermeidlichen Verschmutzung und die Witterungsbeanspruchungen nach kurzer Zeit eine Beschädi­gung des Gewebes unvermeidlich.
