Claims (8)

1. Post body acting as a support for a clothes line and having an extensible clothes line supply, the clothes line being pulled out from the post at the head end thereof, and a locking mechanism for the extended clothes line being provided in the vicinity of the exit point, characterised in that the post body (2) is provided at its top end with a rotary reel (6) arranged coaxially with the post body for receiving the clothes line supply (3), said reel (6) being influenced by a spring (13) which biases the reel (6) counter to the take-off direction of the clothes line (4) and further being surrounded by a cap (15) arranged coaxially with the post body (2) and provided with an exit opening (17).
2. Post body according to claim 1, characterised in that the locking mechanism (18) incorporates a tensioning mechanism (19).
3. Post body according to claim 2, characterised in that the tensioning mechanism (19) is self-locking.
4. Post body according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the clothes line (4) exits eccentrically at the head (5) of the post body (2) and that the locking mechanism (18) for the clothes line (4) is centrally arranged on the top of the cap (15) surrounding the reel (6).
5. Post body according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the reel (6) and the cap (15) are accommodated on a shaft (8) rotatably mounted in the interior of the post body (2), the reel (6) itself being rotatably mounted with respect to the shaft (8) independently of the cap (15).

Post body according to claim 5, characterised in that the shaft (8) is additionally mounted to be longitudinally displaceable in the axial direction of the post body (2) such that the reel (6) and the cap (15) can together be displaced from a rest position covering the top end of the post body (2) to an operational position raised from the top end of the post body (2).
7. Post body according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the post body (2) is part of a laundry drying frame which can be opened out like an umbrella and having a plurality of support arms (10) which can be spread out.
8. Post body according to claim 7, characterised in that in its rest position the cap (15) overlaps the ends of the support arms (10) of the laundry drying frame which can be opened out like an umbrella, when said laundry drying frame is in its collapsed state, thereby preventing said frame from being spread out, while said support arms (10) are released when the cap is in its operational position.
