- the invention relates to a control mechanism for a miniature electric circuit breaker with an insulating housing enclosing a pair of fixed and movable contacts, said movable contact being carried by a contact arm actuated by the mechanism, which comprises: - a manual operating lever coupled to a transmission link to form a toggle, a support lever for the contact arm articulated on a pivot of a rotary plate, a relative pivoting movement of small amplitude being authorized between the plate and the support lever by virtue of the presence of a contact pressure spring, - a breakable mechanical connection arranged between the plate and the transmission link, - And a trigger lever articulated on the plate being controlled by the trigger to cause in the event of a fault the rupture of said mechanical link, causing the automatic triggering of the mechanism, independently of the lever.
- Such a device is known from document EP 244,396, in which the breakable mechanical connection consists of a notch in the plate intended to cooperate directly with the cylindrical end of the link in the armed position of the mechanism.
- Such a mechanism is perfectly suited for circuit breakers of low ratings, but for larger ratings, the tripping force required to break the mechanical connection would be too great, and would lead to oversize the trip device, which is impossible because of the reduced overall dimensions of the housing.
- the object of the invention is to simplify the production of a miniature circuit breaker mechanism having a reduced tripping force and a good contact pressure.
- the mechanism according to the invention is characterized in that the breakable mechanical connection is formed by a notch retaining the trigger lever cooperating with a latching hook pivotally mounted on an axis of the plate, and that the transmission link is coupled to the hook at a point of articulation offset from the axis of said hook, and capable of moving in an opening of the plate when triggered.
- the opening of the plate is advantageously shaped into a circular sector centered on the axis of the hanging hook.
- the mechanical hook connection constitutes a multiplying stage in the kinematic chain for triggering the mechanism allowing a reduction in the tripping force coming from the magnetothermal trigger.
- the bimetallic strip is connected to the trigger lever by a rotary drawer with unidirectional transmission arranged to constitute a rigid kinematic connection without friction with the trigger lever when the bimetallic strip drives the drawer in the event of thermal triggering, said link is automatically interrupted when the plate is moved to the open position of the contacts, or when the striker acts on the trigger lever in the event of a magnetic trigger.
- the hook for hooking the mechanism cooperates after triggering with a hard snap point formed in the trigger lever so as to lock the hook in a fault signaling position.

- the absence of parasitic friction between the drawer 60 and the tripping lever 42 allows a significant reduction in the effort of the trigger transmitted by the bimetallic strip 44.
- the articulation point 62 is disposed between the boss 64 and the pivot axis 46 of the trigger lever 42.
- the end 66 of the drawer 60 opposite the articulation point 62 is capable of abutting against a protuberance of the housing 12, with rupture of the kinematic connection with the trigger lever 42.
- the plate 40 can pivot around the pivot 38 in the counterclockwise direction, and the intermediate zone of the drawer 60 is spaced from the boss 64 (FIG. 2). Note that if the connection remained rigid between the drawer 60 and the trigger lever 42, the complete opening of the mechanism 10 would be made impossible.
- the articulation point 62 of the drawer 60 could of course be merged with the pivot axis 46 of the trigger lever 42.
- the striker 34 of the electromagnetic trip acts on the lower arm of the trip lever 42 to ensure the unlocking of the hook 50 for hooking by escaping the retaining notch 54.

- the lever 24 tilting can occupy a stable intermediate position (case of Figure 4) after tripping on thermal or magnetic fault.
- the trigger lever 42 includes a hard snap point 102 capable of blocking the hook 50 after triggering and breaking of the mechanical link 48.
- a colored marker 104 intended to signal the triggered position of the hook 50 through a signaling light 106 formed in the front face 22 of the housing 12.
- the blocking of the hook 50 by the snap point 102 makes it possible to permanently signal the fault, firstly by the light 106 and d 'other hand by the lever 24 which occupies the intermediate stable position.
- the fault indicator function is thus integrated into the circuit breaker.
