Abstract

To provide for a space-saving, yet high-capacity storage system for sheet elements, for example folded printed paper sheets or the like, a plurality of segments (6) are slidable along a guide track. The segments are interconnected, for example by welding, hinges or the like, in zig-zag or accordeon pleat form. When compressed, the structure can be empty and any number of segments can be taken from an empty storage region, transported to a loading/unloading/mixing region for insertion, removal, or interleaving of sheet elements, while the segments are in expanded position; and then, again, compressed so that sheet elements or folded sheets will continue to be carried in the structure formed by the segments, with little space required. For interleaving or intermixing of sheets, folded or single sheet elements, two such zig-zag carrier structures can be located adjacent each other or above each other, and by spreading apart the segments which may be in U-shape, two paired lateral elements supported on divergent rails or the rail, permit dropping of sheets or sheet elements from an upper segmental array into a lower one or, if located adjacent each other, permit gripping of sheet elements in one array and lateral transport by grippers to an adjacent one.

Description

The invention relates to a device for receiving and continuing folding products with means arranged beneath their folding backs on supporting and guiding devices.

It is generally known that inserts, for example in the form of brochures, often have to be inserted into current printed or folded products, for example in the form of newspapers. For this purpose, it is generally known, among other things, to roll folded products wound on storage drums and to reopen them with opening drums or by means of insertion devices in order to be able to insert the inserts. In addition to the required space and equipment as well as the cumbersome handling, a so-called overfold is also required to open the folded products, which causes increased paper consumption. Furthermore, it is known from DE-OS 34 27 559 and from DE-OS 34 27 558 to take folded products by means of bars which grip under their fold backs and which can be positioned on carrying and guiding devices and guided along them, and by overlapping Folded products to be placed one inside the other in the spread state. However, space-saving storage is not possible.

The object of the invention is to provide a device which offers the takeover and management of sheet or folded products in such a way that inserts or other folded products can be inserted into them and can be stored in a reduced space without leaving the device must be, with no overlap and no additional devices should be needed to open the folded products.

In diesen zeigen schematisch:

  • Fig. 8 - 11 eine zweite Ausführungsform von Segmenten,
  • Fig. 12 -15 eine dritte Ausführungsform der Segmente,
  • Fig. 16 und 17 eine vierte Ausführungsform,
  • Fig. 18 eine Speicher- und Einführ- bzw. Mischstation,
  • Fig. 26 und 27 zwei weitere mehr zieharmonikaartige Ausführungen.
This object is achieved by applying the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Further developments result from the subclaims, the description and the drawings. These show schematically:
  • 1 - 7 a first embodiment of segments forming supports for receiving folded products with a possibility of bringing them together or inserting inserts,
  • 8-11 a second embodiment of segments,
  • 12 -15 a third embodiment of the segments,
  • 16 and 17 a fourth embodiment,
  • 18 a storage and insertion or mixing station,
  • 19 and 20 is a plan view of the segments of FIGS. 16 and 17,
  • 21 to 24 are perspective views of the embodiments of FIGS. 1, 12, 8 and 16,
  • 25 is a schematic representation of a fifth embodiment of the segments and
  • 26 and 27 two more more accordion-like designs.

In the exemplary embodiments in FIGS. 1 to 24, elastic thin sheets 1, for example made of hardened steel, are preferably used, which are connected to one another in an approximately zigzag fashion. At the upper and lower contact points 2, 3, the connection can be made, for example, by spot welding. However, the segments according to the invention in the form of the sheets 1 shown can also be produced from plastic, cardboard or other elastic materials with sufficient stability and can be connected to one another in a suitable manner. It is also possible to provide articulated connections at the upper and lower contact points, for example in the form of generally known piano bands or similar simple joints, in order to be able to push the approximately zigzag-shaped structure apart and together or pull it. When using joints, it is not absolutely necessary that the segments themselves are elastic.

As a result, the approximately zigzag-shaped structures forming the supports can be pushed apart and pulled together or pulled out of the segments, in the form of sheets 1, in the direction of arrows 4 and 5 (FIG. 3).

It is understood that the sheet metal segments 1 can be strung together as often as required to form sufficiently long finite or infinite support systems. As can already be seen in FIGS. 1 to 3, the individual sheet segments 1 are shaped such that the paper sheets or the folded products 6, 7 can be carried hanging in the open or closed state. If the structure or the carrier is pulled apart, the folded products open at predetermined points and when pushed together, for example for compact storage, they close. Furthermore, the sheet metal segments 1 are shaped so that they are in the open, ie. H. that can be moved in an exploded form on carrying and guiding devices, here in the form of rails 8, 9 and can be stored in a cassette 10 in the closed state.

From a certain length of the structure or the carrier arrangement, it is advantageous to use corresponding transport devices. These can be designed, for example, in the form of cycle or conveyor belts. A particularly suitable transport device is described and described in detail in EP-A1 0 250 771 with the same age rank.

Fig. 3 und 7 zeigen diesen Vorgang in schematischer Ansicht.1 and 2 show an approximately U-shaped shape of the segments 1. On the legs of the segments 1, which are not specified in more detail, rails 8, 9 arranged laterally engage, for example, in recesses, along which the structures or supports made of zigzag-shaped segments 1 are movable. 2, 4, 5 and 6, folding products 6 of the upper zigzag structures, each marked with an apostrophe, can be placed on or in folding products 7 in the lower segments 1 , or be placed over them. For this purpose, when the folded product 6 is held, it is tilted or lowered on the left side (FIG. 2) and then shifted (FIG. 4), so that the upper folded product 6 first of the left and then of the right leg slips down and lies on the underlying folding product 7 or falls into it. 3 and 7 show this process in a schematic view.

From the empty storage area 11, the zigzag-shaped segments 1, on rails 8, 9, 35, 36) are guided, pulled out and apart to form an unloading, loading or mixing area 12, after which the loaded segments 1, i. H. stored with printed copies and with appropriate supplements, pushed together in a full memory 13, which may also again comprise a cassette 10, stored in a space-saving manner. First, products 14 in spread form could also be inserted into the segments from above in the mixing or loading area 12, for example with a device according to DE-PS 34 27 558, according to which supplements 15 could be added by another system and after which the storage at 13 he follows.

Mischbereich 12 (vgl. Fig. 18) erkennen, von wo aus die Übergabe in die andere zick-zackförmige Träger-Struktur 23 auf oder in die Falzprodukte 21 etwa durch eine Parallelverschiebung erfolgen kann.8 to 11 show a further embodiment of the segments according to the invention, preferably made of elastic sheets 22, which can preferably be guided on rails 17, 18 for easier handling and which can be inserted into or removed from a cassette 16. The sheets 22, which are also interconnected in the manner described in a zigzag manner, have recesses in the upper area, into which grippers 20 can engage to remove the folded products 19 located therein. With the aid of the grippers 20, the folded products 19 can be transferred from the segments 23 into an approximately adjacent, but preferably lowered zigzag structure by lifting, moving and lowering them, as can be seen in the schematic side view according to FIG. 11, so that again e.g. B. current products, such as newspapers and inserts can be guided together. 8 shows the zigzag-shaped carrier structure from the segments 22 in the memory area, i. H. 9 shows the structure in the loading, unloading or mixing area 12 (see FIG. 18), from where the transfer into the other zigzag-shaped carrier structure 23 on or into the Folded products 21 can be done by a parallel displacement.

Eine Spreizung ist auch durch seitliches Herausdrehen der Segmente möglich.12 to 15 show a third embodiment of the segments according to the invention in turn U-shaped to form a zigzag-shaped carrier structure which is stored in the cassette 10 in a pushed-together form in FIG. 12. Here, the segments 29 show at the upper ends of their legs 27, 28 inwardly directed lugs 24 and 25 which engage under the fold or the fold back of the fold products 26. The legs 27, 28 are guided on rails 30 and 31 running laterally at different distances from one another, as a result of which there is a deflection, specifically over the arcuate region 32, so that the folding products 26 are released and downward when the noses 24 and 25 are spread apart can fall to get into another structure, not shown, or to a corresponding display. Spreading is also possible by unscrewing the segments to the side.

Beim Auseinanderführen der Schienen 35, 36 fallen diese in die in Fig. 17, 18 angedeuteten unteren zick-zackförmigen Träger-Strukturen bzw. auf oder in die dort befindlichen Falzprodukte 15.16 to 20 show divided shapes in which the segments 33, 34 are arranged on rails 35, 36 on both sides of the folded products 14 to be fed. Coming again from a cassette 10, the divided segments 33, 34 can be pulled apart in an unloading, loading or mixing area 12 in order to release folded products held between them, so that these can be folded down onto further folded products, e.g. B. 15 (Fig. 18) can fall. For this embodiment, the guide of the rails 35, 36 shown in FIG. 20 at different distances is required. If the distance between the rails 33, 34 is increased, the previously described release of the folded copies 14 can take place. 19 schematically shows the shape of two segments 39, 40 which are connected to one another in a zigzag shape, in the pulled-apart state and from above. It can be seen here that in the upper region, between two segments in each case a V-shaped, preferably elastic holder is fastened with its two tongues 37, 38 to one of the segments 39, 40, so that when the segments 39, 40 are pulled apart, the Also spread tongues 37, 38, and thus also a spread of the folded products lying on the V-shaped brackets or tongues 37, 38 z. B. 14 takes place. If the zigzag-shaped carrier structure is pushed together, then preferably also those of the same material close, ie. H. tongues 37, 38 made of thin, elastic sheet metal, which engage below the fold back of the fold products. When the rails 35, 36 are brought apart, they fall into the lower zigzag-shaped carrier structures indicated in FIGS. 17, 18 or onto or into the folded products 15 located there.

Fig. 21 zeigt dabei das Segment gemäß Fig. 1, Fig. 22 das Segment gemäß Fig. 12, Fig. 23 das Segment gemäß Fig. 8 und Fig. 24 das Segment gemäß Fig. 16 und 18.21 to 24 show the zigzag-shaped segments of the invention connected in the form of elastic sheets in a perspective view. 21 shows the segment according to FIG. 1, FIG. 22 the segment according to FIG. 12, FIG. 23 the segment according to FIG. 8 and FIG. 24 the segment according to FIGS. 16 and 18.

As already mentioned at the beginning, it is expedient to use elastic sheets welded together as segments, but an embodiment according to FIG. 25 is also possible in which the segments 44 are made of elastic z. B. steel rods or wires are connected to each other at the points 45 and 46, for example welded and held and guided in an H-shaped guide 47.

Likewise, FIG. 26 shows a structure on one side, which was continuously formed into loops from an endless elastic wire 48 and encloses the guide and support rail 49. A possible drive 50 can engage above the rail 49, while the projecting support areas 51 to 54 receive the specimens 55 and open them when they are pulled apart. The endless transition from loop to loop takes place in the sheet 56.

With simple, i.e. H. not so complex embodiments, the zigzag-shaped carrier structures can be pushed or pulled by hand from a cassette in a loading, unloading and mixing area, after which manual insertion into a storage device can also take place. However, for larger systems it is expedient to use automatic transport systems for this purpose, as is shown and described in EP-A1 0 250 771 of the same age.

Finally, FIGS. 27, 28 show variants in which the segments 56, 59 run parallel. V-shaped support lugs 58, 62 are arranged between these, which grip under the fold back and spread the fold products when the structures are pulled apart. 27, two segments 56 are connected by an elastic spring 57 which, for. B. may have on one side a slot, not shown, in which engages a pin attached to segments. 28 shows elastic V-shaped connections 60, 61, through which the segments 59 can be pushed apart and pushed together. The latter could also be replaced by a joint.

In an advantageous development, the segments can be coded individually and / or in groups. There are e.g. Punching, optically or magnetically readable markings in question.
