Definitions

  • the invention relates to an outer wall box for the combustion air and exhaust gas ducts of a device working with a burner system, such as, in particular, a heater, water heater, refrigerator or the like set up in a mobile space, in the box space of which the two ducts, one above the other, open through a floor wall and the exhaust duct is extended into the box space by an outlet connection, while the air duct ends in the bottom wall, an outlet opening of this outlet connection is surrounded by frame walls set apart from it, which project above this outlet opening and over an outer surface of a room wall accommodating the wall box, and wherein the outlet or Entry openings of these two channels are shielded from one another by a partition in the box room.
  • a burner system such as, in particular, a heater, water heater, refrigerator or the like set up in a mobile space
  • a burner system such as, in particular, a heater, water heater, refrigerator or the like set up in a mobile space
  • the flue gas and air ducts of another external wall connection for gas-heated devices open into a single external wall box.
  • the exhaust duct is noticeably extended into the box room, while the duct sucking in the combustion air begins in the box bottom.
  • the box room is divided between these two channels at full height by a partition.
  • the wall box is covered by means of a louvre grille in such a way that the louvres are directed obliquely upwards in front of the upper exhaust gas outlet opening.
  • This louvre grille is mounted in a frame that can be placed on the wall box and protrudes slightly beyond the outer wall. If a louvre grille can also cause a certain deflection of the currents passing through, it cannot prevent wind gusts hitting the wall of the room from entering the box room and the ducts and thereby causing the dreaded disturbances to the combustion system.
  • another known outer wall box (DE-A-2 548 543) provides a cover for the outlet and inlet openings of the two channels. This consists of plates running parallel to the outer wall, which are arranged at a distance from one another and from the outer wall.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of creating an outer wall box for the combustion air and exhaust gas ducts of a device working with a burner system, which ensures reliable and trouble-free operation of the burner system even under the most unfavorable wind conditions, such as occur particularly when moving caravans or boats .
  • an outer wall box of the type mentioned according to the invention in that a cover plate of at least the size of the opening area with a distance that is greater than the height of the frame walls is placed in front of the outlet opening of the exhaust duct, the cover plate on one Full width side is connected to the upper frame wall and on the other side to the partition wall, which ends with its inner edge at a distance from the bottom wall of the box bottom and the upper and the side frame walls surround the outlet opening outside the cover plate.
  • the frame surrounding the exhaust gas outlet opening also switches in the exhaust gas flow due to lateral wind currents largely from. Due to the direct connection of the cover plate to the upper frame wall and the partition wall, wind currents acting from above and below have no access to the exhaust gas outlet opening and the exhaust gases cannot be blown in the direction of the combustion air intake opening.
  • the two openings are both offset from each other in the plane and shielded from one another by partitions or cover walls. Nevertheless, sufficient pressure compensation is still guaranteed within the box space between these openings.
  • the inventive design of an outer wall box enables an extremely low construction, which is particularly suitable for installation in an outer wall of caravans and boats.
  • a box bottom 10 On a top exhaust duct 1 and a lower combustion air duct 2, which lead to firing (not shown) of a combustion system and which are arranged close to one another, a box bottom 10 is connected gas-tight with its connecting pieces 5 and 6.
  • This box base 10 forms, together with a box cover 20, an outer wall box, as shown in FIG. 1.
  • the box bottom is delimited by a bottom wall 7 and the transverse and longitudinal walls 11 and 12 respectively. Its dimensions are such that the side walls slightly exceed the connecting piece openings 8 and 9, both in width and in length, and the box bottom then forms a fitting that is suitable for production and installation. Its depth is appropriately adapted to the depth of the outer wall into which it is to be sunk.
  • an outlet piece 15 protrudes somewhat into the box space 18 with respect to this opening.
  • an outlet opening 17 for the exhaust gas which in the exemplary embodiment lies approximately at the height of the box bottom walls.
  • This outlet nozzle which can be inserted into the box bottom or can also be molded in, can also end with its outlet opening 17 below the box bottom walls. It should only exceed this height if the outer surface 28 of the outer wall also extends outside the box bottom walls.
  • the air duct 2 ends with the connecting piece 6 in the bottom wall 7 and is thus open to the entire box space 18, which also encloses the outlet opening 17. In this case, however, the outlet opening 17 is offset from the outside relative to the inlet opening 9 to the air duct.
  • This box cover essentially consists of a deflector space 21 surrounding the outlet opening 17. This is formed by a frame base 22, an upper frame wall 23, the two side frame walls 24 and a lower partition wall 25. An inner edge 26 of the frame base expediently closes with the free wall edges of the box bottom 10. Correspondingly placed screw holes 27 are congruent with the screw holes 13.
  • the frame walls surround the outlet opening 17 at a predetermined distance which is influenced by the size of the outlet opening and the necessary passage opening. The height of the frame walls is at least a few millimeters, in order to create a deflector wall for air currents sweeping away from the outer surface 28 of the outer wall.
  • a cover plate 30 is arranged at a distance from the outlet opening. This cover plate extends over the entire outlet opening, so that it is protected against direct gusts of wind. On the other hand, this cover plate does not extend to the side frame walls; because the exhaust gases must be able to escape freely through these side openings 29 because the cover plate is connected at the top via an inclined wall 31 to the upper frame wall 23 and at the bottom directly to the partition wall 25.
  • Each of the two side openings 29 has a size that is as small as possible not smaller than the outlet opening 17.
  • the partition extends at least to the height of the outlet opening. It expediently affects the outlet connection. It can also run at some distance from the outlet nozzle and also further in the direction of the box floor-bottom wall 7.
  • the box space is from one of the partition 25 to one baffle 35 extending lower transverse wall 34 divided.
  • This baffle wall projects with its outer edge 36 at least over the outer surface 28 of the outer wall, expediently also beyond the frame wall height and ends flush with the cover plate 30. Its inner edge 37 is as far as possible into the box space 18, expediently as far as the inlet opening 9.
  • the side openings between cover plate 30 and frame walls 24 are spanned by bars 38.
  • the rest of the box space is also covered by a protective grid 40 made of longitudinal and transverse bars 41, 42.
  • the cross bars are at most connected to the frame base 22 by means of a reinforcing rib 44.
  • Frame walls are not cheap in the area of the air inlet. In design and material, this protective grille is adapted to the deflector frame.
  • the box base 10 and the cover 20 are also two separate components which can be releasably connected to one another, this does not rule out a different subdivision or a one-piece construction.
  • the inclined wall 31 shown could also be curved or replaced by an angular transition.
  • the mode of action is as follows.
  • the arrangement of the outlet opening 17 in a plane advanced relative to the inlet opening 9 prevents the exhaust gases from the opening 17 from flowing directly into the air duct 2.
  • the cover plate 30 prevents a direct entry of a wind stream into the exhaust gas duct, then the wind deflector frame 21 also deflects the outer wall along or inclined outward gusts of wind so far that the exhaust gases can escape without any noticeable impairment because the suction effect occurring here causes the gas to escape on the slipstream side favored.
  • the baffle 35 attached in front of the air inlet opening 9 in turn has the task of collecting the air flowing through the cover from the side and supplying it to the air duct.
  • the lower frame wall 34 is also advantageous. It acts as a baffle when an air flow sweeps over the cover plate from above.
