Description

Process for the production of pressure-resistant hollow bodies which are heated from the outside It is known to produce pressure-resistant hollow bodies by helically winding optionally profiled metallic strips onto a core. As such, a hollow body, e.g. B. a core tube can be used or a solid core that is subsequently removed. If such a winding body, for. B. in order to carry out reactions in its interior, has to be heated from the outside, there is often the grievance that the outer winding layer falls in love as a result of strong expansion, whereby the heat conduction is praised and otherwise a weakening of the winding body occurs. These hollow bodies are generally wound up at a belt temperature of over 700 °. The hollow pressure bodies produced up to now by the winding process have a shrinkage stress which corresponds to a shrinkage temperature during production of at most about 3000 or a little above.

It has now been found that the inconvenience of lifting the outer tape layer when heating from the outside is eliminated by winding the outermost winding layer at such a high temperature that the shrinking temperature is higher than the highest temperature to which it will be exposed in later operation is. It is advisable to select the shrink temperature at least 250 higher than the highest temperature during operation. The shrinkage temperature is the temperature that the winding tape has after it has had at least one full winding uni the hollow body to be wound.

It is advantageous to use lower layers for the following layers Shrink temperature than the previous layers, so that the outermost layer is wrapped at the lowest shrink temperature. However, it should be noted that that in all these cases the shrinkage temperature of the outermost layer of the above Condition must meet.

In order to achieve the desired high shrinkage temperatures, turn a correspondingly rapid rotation of the winding body during winding on or or and switches the one that has been usual up to now immediately after the tape has run up Cooling by air or other means wholly or at least partially aim.

For example, the temperature of the heating gases in an externally heated winding body of 2 1 m length and a diameter of 10 cm with three winding layers is 500 '. During the manufacture of this wound body, the shrinkage temperature of the lowest 'layer' on the core tube is 85o ', the second layer 700' and the third outermost layer 6oo '. The material from which the core tube and the strips are made is a heat-resistant steel.
