Cable entry with a plug connection

The invention relates to a cable feedthrough with a plug connection for leading a cable through a device wall.

When installing fixed plug connections, for example in airplanes, the socket part, which contains the sockets for the plug pins, is screwed to the device wall or a supporting structure. The plug part of the cable is then connected to this fixed socket.

If major changes are made to devices or additional wiring is installed, the socket must be removed in order to re-pin the sockets, which is only possible with considerable effort.

If the device wall or the structure is thicker than about 4 mm, there are further problems because the plug part no longer locks. In this case, the socket must be mounted on the back of the structure. This causes major disadvantages for production because the pinning can only be carried out when the device is installed.

It is the object of the invention to create a cable feedthrough with a plug connection that eliminates the disadvantages mentioned, i.e. is easy to assemble and disassemble and still ensures the stability and safety required, for example, in aircraft construction.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1.

It is particularly advantageous that the connection only requires one pin-socket set and is therefore less susceptible to failure. Furthermore, the connection can be quickly and provisionally closed and tested in the laboratory or test bench using the original socket-pin set.

Figures 1 and 2 show a view of the object of the invention before and after assembly. In a structure or device wall 4, there is a recess or opening in which a sleeve 3 is fastened. Fastening is carried out by means of a flange 3f and screw or rivet connections, as can be seen in Figure 3. To support thick structural walls, the flange 3f can also be offset towards one end of the sleeve.

The sleeve 3 is hollow and offers space for a socket part Zc of a plug connection which contains the ends of a multi-core cable 2 which are connected to the corresponding sockets 1m inside the part 2c. The socket part also contains a housing 2b and a movable bayonet ring 2a of known design. The sleeve is suitably equipped with a recess or nose 3e for inserting the socket part in the correct position. Its shape is independent of the contact pattern of the plug.

The plug part 1 is constructed accordingly and also consists of a housing 1b with cable 'ff and a bayonet ring 1a. The internal structure of the plug part Ic with a pin Id is shown in Figure 4; just like the corresponding socket 2d. This figure also shows elastic seals Ie and 2e, which ensure a mechanically strong connection.

The counterparts to the bayonet rings U and 2a are the ends of the sleeve 3 with the corresponding pins 3a, 3b, 3c, and 3e.

In the dismantled state according to Figure 1, all electrical connections between the wires of the cables If and 2f with the respective pins Id and 2d have been made and externally tested for functionality. The uij]en \c¥ with liar Qöräfouanri hjw. structure 4 are also firmly connected.

To create the plug connection, the socket part 2 of the plug with its long socket part 2c is pushed through the opening in the sleeve in the correct position and locked to the pins 3c and 3d with the bayonet ring 2a. The plug part 1 is locked in the same way with the bayonet ring 1a and the pins 3a and 3b. In this position, the electrical connection between the pins Id and the corresponding socket 2d is also created. The connection is additionally secured by the elastic seals Ie and 2e.

The plug connection also has the advantage that it can be closed without structure 4 with a standard or slightly modified sleeve part for example 1m laboratory or 1m test bench with the original pins and sockets.

The fastening of the plug part 1 and the socket part 3 2 to the sleeve 3 can be carried out not only with the bayonets shown, but also with union nuts. However, for the sake of greater operational reliability and easier handling, bayonets are preferable. Furthermore, the bayonet ring can have springs instead of or in addition to the elastic seals Ie and 2e.

Cable feedthrough with a plug connection for leading a cable through a device wall, characterized in that the cable feedthrough consists of a sleeve (3) leaving an opening which can be fastened in a recess in the device wall (4) and that the plug connection consists of a socket part (2) and a pin part (1), the socket part (2) being designed in such a way that after being pushed through the sleeve (3) it rests against the end of the sleeve facing the socket and after being connected to the plug part (1) it is firmly connected to the sleeve (3). 2. Cable feedthrough according to claim 1, characterized in that the sleeve has bayonet pins (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) for locking with corresponding recesses in the plug part (1) and/or the socket part (2).
