Die Erzeugnisse der bisherigen Flittermaschinen fallen nach Angabe des Erfinders insofern zur Unzufriedenheit aus, als diese Erzeugnisse infolge des Anritzens an ihrer Peripherie keilförmige, beim Schlagen bedeutend hervortretende Ausschnitte zeigen. Durch vorliegende Neuerung wird dieser Uebelstand^ beseitigt, indem die Ringe nicht mehr scheerenartig abgetrennt, sondern nur von innen heraus aufgeschlitzt werden. Der Antrieb erfolgt von der W^Telle α der Presse bezw. des Hammers mittelst eines Zahnrades b. Beide Apparate sind durch ein kleines Vorgelege mit der Welle c verbunden. Auf ihm sitzt aufser dem Zahnrade f ein Ring i mit einer Nuth, die an einer gewissen Stelle eine Erhöhung besitzt, welch letztere den Vorschub des Zapfens e bewirkt, sobald der in der Nabe des Rades / festsitzende und in der Nuth des Ringes i laufende Stift k auf die Erhöhung aufläuft. Auf dem vorderen Ende des Zapfens e sitzt der Führungskopf Z für den Wickelbolzen m, welcher im Hintertheile des Ständers in einer Düse η fest eingeklemmt ist. Mittelst der Gabel g wird der Draht auf das Stäbchen m aufgewickelt und die dadurch entstehende Spirale von dem Kopf / bei jeder Umdrehung um eine Drahtstärke vorgeschoben, so dafs auch immer ein Ringchen abgestofsen wird. Die Spirale läuft durch eine vorn etwas konische Bohrung des Eisens 0. Innerhalb des letzteren sitzt auf dem Stäbchen m eine feine zugeschliffene Fahne p, gegen welche die Drahtspirale angeschoben wird, und welche dadurch bei jedem Vorschub eine Windung abschneidet, so dafs im Auge 0 nur noch Ringchen liegen, welche durch die Konizität der Bohrung etwas zusammengedrückt werden. Die Feder q läfst beim Vorschieben jedesmal nur einen Ring in den Trichter r fallen. Das Fähnchen ρ dient nicht nur zum Aufschlitzen, sondern auch gleichzeitig zum Festhalten der Spirale.
