Description
Mosaic electrode for storing image decomposition tubes The well-known mosaic electrodes for storing image decomposition tubes consist of en mosaic elements, an insulating layer and a common counter electrode ("signal plate"). Each mosaic element forms with the counter electrode a capacitor; that by exposure or electron bombardment is charged and usually discharged again by the scanning beam. In detail .are the most diverse possibilities for the formation of the mosaic electrode known, with between one-sided and double-sided mosaic electrodes and between a distinction is made between those for direct exposure and for electronic charging will. However, all known designs of the mosaic electrode have in common; that the counter electrode - a coherent conductive structure, represents that in itself always has the same potential.
In contrast to this, according to the invention, the counter electrode is mutually aligned split isolated sections. While it is with the previously known mosaic electrodes not possible was electric fields in the plane of the Mosiah electrode to generate, the arrangement according to the invention offers the possibility in this plane or set arbitrarily specific field strengths parallel to it, whereby a Guiding the electrons, especially the secondary electrons released during scanning, is made possible. This is of particular importance for the reduction or suppression the so-called interference pulse, which is caused by the uneven distribution of potential within the mosaic surface and the resulting one-sided suction of the secondary electrons is caused. Such asymmetries can be compensated by the invention, by applying different voltages to the different sections of the signal electrode be created. The function of the signal plate as a pick-up electrode is thereby not affected, as the individual sections are connected to each other via capacitors connected and all switched to a common output resistance can.
The mosaic plate is produced as follows, for example: On an insulating plate made of e.g. B. Mica is a conductive layer applied, those by etching; Engraving od. The like. Is divided into a number of strips, which Insulated enough to hold a small charge. The obtained in the way Conductive elements are made in such size and number as the picture division demands. Another plate of insulating material carries a metal layer that is divided into two strips by drawing a notch lengthways. These strips together give the common occupancy of the mosaic. Both halves of the common Occupancy can be put at different potentials to the charge and discharge of the mosaic: to facilitate on the relevant pages.
To form a single-line mosaic, a strip of the described Capacitance elements are used. For a complete two-dimensional mosaic plate the strips are to be stacked on top of each other until the desired number of picture elements is reached.
