Die Vorrichtung dient dazu, um bei Niederdruck-Dampfkesseln die durch Unvorsichtigkeit des Heizers oder durch ungünstige Wirkungsweise des Regulators hervorgerufene Druckerhöhung in dem Kessel zu beseitigen, infolge deren ein Ueberkochen und Ausstofsen des Wassers aus dem Standrohr stattfindet, wodurch oft ein Ausglühen des Kessels verursacht wird. Es geschieht dies in bekannter Weise dadurch, dafs der überschüssige Dampf selbstthätig abbläst und der normale Dampfdruck wieder hergestellt wird.
