B. nach dem Kupferoxydammoniak-, dem Acetat- oder Nitrocelluloseverfahren, verwendet die Industrie in der Regel Baumwollinters, welche einen hohen Gehalt an Alphacellulose aufweisen. Die Kunstseide, die nach dem Viskoseverfahren hergestellt wird, nimmt als Ausgangsmaterial Holzzellstoff, dessen Alphaeellulosegehalt zwischen 85 bis 9o% liegt.
