Description

Process for the production of high quality cellulose for further processing on cellulose ester, rayon and the like from wood pulp For the production of Cellulose compounds for further processing on rayon and similar products, z. B. after the copper oxide ammonia, the acetate or nitrocellulose method used the industry usually cotton linters, which have a high alpha cellulose content exhibit. The rayon, which is manufactured according to the viscose process, takes The starting material is wood pulp, the alpha cellulose content of which is between 85 and 9o%. This pulp is good for processing according to the viscose system suitable, but could because of the too low content of alpha cellulose in the aforementioned Procedure do not find entry.

It has already been suggested that the pulp by a suitable Pretreatment, e.g. B. with alkali, or by a weak alkali bleach in to improve its alpha cellulose content. However, this treatment is not enough to get high quality products with about 99%.

Surprisingly, it has been shown that in a treatment of the Pulp with strongly alkaline liquid, e.g. B. alkali or carbonate solution in the presence of oxidizing bleach, all unnecessary parts are removed. It is due to the combined action of this highly alkaline treatment liquid in connection with the bleach a much better success achieved and at the same time counteracted the darkening effect of the strong lye with the bleach, so that at the same time a very white product is obtained.

In order to achieve a high content of alpha cellulose in the pulp, one proceeds, for example, as follows: 100 kg of pre-bleached pulp are mixed with around 1500 kg of 5% sodium hydroxide solution, to which about 25 g of chlorine per liter are added, for example ¢ Hours treated with exercise as much as possible. The product is washed out with alkali and then with water, acidified and washed again. The chlorine-containing alkali can be used several times after it has been refreshed, as can the washing liquor that is used.

The cellulose produced by this process is purer than cotton linters and can always be produced in a uniform quality.
