Description
Supply of X-ray tubes. The type of flushing of X-ray tubes, by means of an inductor or an X-ray transformer, whose secondary winding, which is earthed at one point, is given earth potential at a point strongly to the side of, its center or even at its end , is of particular importance and, one at a distance from the grounded pole. X-ray carrots, whose discharge is caused by the emission of electrons from glowing metals, is increasingly insulated during operation. With these it is necessary, through a special one. Heizstrron- to keep the glow electrode at a high temperature. This is only possible with careful isolation of the heating power source from the earth. Numerous suggestions have been made for the appropriate arrangement of this separation. In the case of the present invention, the cathode can simply be connected to earth or to a relatively small potential difference from earth - and thus the high-voltage insulation of this glow current can either be completely avoided or at least greatly reduced. If, for example, the cathode is completely connected to earth and connected to the inductor pole (through the earth or through a line), which is itself connected to earth, the mains current can be used for heating without further ado. If one gives the gap diode Id the potential of 10,000 volts from the earth, a small dry-type transformer like the smallest current transformer for measuring instruments is sufficient to operate the heating current. In any case, the present invention, which consists in controlling the potentials of the secondary, arpole strongly asymmetrical to the earth, can be applied with particular advantage to the hot cathode tubes equivalent ion-emitting electrodes.
